Kenny the Jet said it best....

Yeah and our best 3 point shooter who is also supposed to be one of the best if not the best in the nation did not show up. It's really not a surprise when he does this because he has plenty nights like this during the season.

We can point to a lot of things for this loss. But this is certainly one of them.

JBo has troubles playing against quick, fast long wingspan defenders ( a lot of players do). Most of our team did as Oregon has a bunch of 6-5 6-6 guys out there guarding the arc and not giving you room.

Most of the time you can shut down a real good trey shooter by never giving him room.

For some reason Fran just never ran a double screen along the baseline for Jbo at all and especially when we needed a basket.

But I thought a bunch of teams named Illinois and OSU had the quickness and speed but they just got outplayed.

He's a liability on defense so if the shots not there get him the hell outta there. And who taught Connor how to shoot. Hes an offensive liability

It's not the scheme, it's the personnel. Zone or man, this year's starters lacked the athleticism to compete against the elite. Looking forward to next year's lineup of Nunge at C, the Murrays and P Mac at F, and a backcourt of Joe T, CJ, and Ulis looks to be a much more athletic team capable of playing much better D. But can they score like this year's team did?
Your first paragraph says it all and has for years!

We really didn't have a chance to play D

They were too quick and athletic

Wouldn't have mattered if they had played VCU

Freddy was obviously not in tiptop shape and probably
shouldn't have played

Connor shouldn't have played because of injuries

JoeW did well despite his ankle

Jordan only took 6 shots total

To only lose by 15, all things considered, is not all that bad

After all, we could be Kansas, the certified Blue Blood

They are really being slaughtered

Behind by 30 to USC

The future looks alright, lot of quickness and ability

The Murrays, Patrick, JoeT, Ulis, and Perkins

Hopefully Jack Nunge and Freddy for a couple of years, and a transfer or two

Beginning of a new era

Time to move on

Yeah they were beat up. Season wore down CJ, JW and CM. Probably JBo to an extent. He got frustrated big time. That foul/elbow he put on that kid was as dirty of a play as I can remember him making. John Stockton did stuff like that all the time back in the day but nowadays it's pretty frowned upon. They deserved a better ending then that but sports are a metaphor for life right? It sure as hell isn't fair.
