Usually but didn't help Akrum Wadley's cause.Signed as FA which is effectively the same as any later round pick so.....meh?? Usually FA signing is better than being a 6/7 pick anyway.
My first impression was that running backs just aren't valued like they used to be. However, looking back over the years there are about 25 +/- RBs drafted each year since 2005. This year there were 24, so that wasn't it. He is on the smaller side.
I'd be curious to see if the 24 were drafted lower. I suspect they were. In the absence of overwhelming talent they're a dime a dozen.

Neither did Akrum, who didn't have a solid enough camp to really stand out with the Titans.
Wadley's best NFL shot may have been with a Andy Reid/Matt Nagy type offense, or maybe Kyle Shanahan, but mostly he came up a little short when it came to checking some boxes, which happens to a lot of good college players.
Kingsbury is definitely going to go full throttle on the offense. He would make a great 3rd down type back in the pass happy Arizona offense this fall.
loser
Higdon was a good back, but definitely not elite and not even a Top 15 RB nationwide. No surprise he didn’t get drafted.
Wadley was a CFL player from birth. He’s a fast slot receiver which is absolutely golden in Canaderp.Usually but didn't help Akrum Wadley's cause.

He’s hurt now, and kinda screwed up by not going CFL right away after he got cut from the NFL. There is not a more prototypical player for Canada ball in existence with the way they run those offenses with that field and rule set.
Im sure he doesn’t want to move to a different country to play ball though, so I understand it. Tevaun Smith has a different situation since he’s from Canuckistan to begin with.
Not dogging AW at all though. He took a few minutes to talk to my kid at a spring game autograph session, and took pictures with him too. Seriously class act. We ended up sitting next to his mom at the ‘16 spring game and she’s a super, super nice lady. I got the feeling she was way more concerned with getting that degree on the wall than football which, knowing Wadley wouldn’t probably get drafted with guaranteed money, will help Akrum immensely in life.
