JVB is tied for 15th in B1G in TD passes

I feel more and more that this is a system thing. He couldn't catch up to the change, AND the scheme design this right now is far more lateral. Not sure if that is a function of what the receivers can or can't do, or what. But JVB is not the horse for this course.
Please let Mr. & Mrs. Ferentz know that. Thank you.

Sad... Never would have expected this after last year. I'll leave the rest of my thoughts and comments to myself as he is a young man and its not like he isn't trying.

Ragging on him is easy this year, as his performances have generally been pretty dismal, but I will say this about him, he answers every question after the games, and he takes the bullet for the team. He's owed respect for that.

He is no doubt a very respectable young man. I hope he becomes an outstanding doctor some day and continues to be an outstanding person and citizen. And I hope he is able to overcome all the terrible disappointment of this year and turn it into a positive overcome-failure type story in his personal life.

Greg Davis should never have been hired. Period.

I will edit to add:
--He may run the offense KF "wants", but please don't tell me KF is calling all the plays and designing each series.
--I know KF is a stand-up guy, but this needs to be nipped in the bud NOW. Bielema did it. It CAN be done.
--IF Greg Davis's system is going to "work", what OTHER personnel needs to be changed out? Does KFs whole recruiting philosophy have to change? If so, fine. It takes stones for KF to do that. But he should make a public announcement that the program is going in a different direction, ALL the staff are on board with it, and players understand. And explain that players are on board with loyalty to JVB, including all the QBs, and that JVB is falling on the sword to get the system developed. Otherwise, he needs to pull JVB now. Or, fire Greg Davis now. If the Hawks win Saturday, it means bowl bid still attainable, but no way that happens IF the GD system remains in place AND JVB is still running it.

Can he move up that list this weekend? Purdue's all but quit so it will be interesting to see. I'm guessing it's not going to happen. I will admit that he fooled me the beginning of the Indiana game and actually got me to admit that he might have a decent game. Did I ever feel stupid.

I think Purdue is going to realize they only have to beat Iowa, Illinois and Indiana to get to a bowl game, and they are going to be a little more confident about their chances in those games than in their earlier conference games.

It's the job of the coaches to adapt to their players and put them in the best position to win. If JVB is not executing their game plan because it doesn't fit his particular skill set, they need to make that adjustment and put him in a position to succeed. This far into the season and it's like no adjustments have been made. IMO a good coach adapts to and schemes around his teams strengths...that is not happening at Iowa this season. JVB is capable of putting up solid numbers as he did last year. It's absolutely baffling that he can go from 25/7 ratio to where he is at today.
