Justice not being served in #Soundoff

Without knowing who the hosts were, with the exception of Eddie P, I tuned in to the show for the first time this season after the game last week. I could only stand to listen for about four minutes. This version of Soundoff is as bad, if not worse, than when Larry Cotlar was the host.

I listen to TnT religiously BECAUSE it is so awful. Ross is the best of the three by a mile. Travis is an idiot and the other 'T' will argue against a blue sky.

That show is sooooo bad. When I do try to listen, I find myself switching the station after 5 min., they are just brutal.

Travis has said some really perverted things that I would think any other radio guy wouldn't come close to saying. It's a turn off when you got a guy that's in his forties talking like a 15 year old on the radio.

Especially in that time slot, where we may have kids in our cars, taking them to school, etc. If I want toilet humor, I'll listen to the Bob and Tom show, at least it is funny.

The reason I started this thread, though, was because it is just a bunch of garbage that someone who is doing the Hawkeye call in show is also working Husker stories and adding #GBR etc. to the tweets. I had a Husker kind of get on me that it shouldn't be a big deal to Hawkeye fans, and that Travis can cover both and remain impartial. As I said to him, that wasn't my point, my point is: Would Nebraska fans have wanted someone covered and/ or promoted coverage of the Oklahoma Sooners handling their radio shows back in the day? Of course the answer is "no". After a couple more comments, Travis chimed in saying that he's "Dyed in the wool Black and Gold" which just further proves my opinion of him as a carpet bagger. Floating around his activities west of the Missouri it is #GBR and stories about Nebraska, but when he either does the show that is broadcast out of Des Moines in the AM or in theory drives over to DM for the Soundoff shows, it is "Hawks Hawks Hawks, Dyed in the wool!"

Frankly maybe WHO Radio should have just let the show cease if this is the best they can come up with.

I don't drive in the mornings very often, do they still have long uncomfortable conversations with the Weather Girl from Channel 13?

I don't know now. I don't listen to it until I'm by myself cause I'm worried that Travis will say something perverted. I almost did call Van Harden to complain on him one day. I still might. It's obvious he doesn't know what's appropriate and what's not.

Seriously, It's going to be a long time before I listen to Soundoff again. Jon and Jim are the only hosts I've ever known, and without Z, it can't possibly the same ever again.

I expected the show to go down a bit but Ross isnt bad and similar to Jon, Eddie of course makes the show along with the callers, Travis Justice is not a good fit as it but would be OK if he would just make some good hawk analogies or stories and not hog the air.

I like that they let the callers talk and soundoff as I thought for several years or more Jon and Z would cut callers off, you know the show is called soundoff.

Ross being the 'moderator' type he brings being a big black and gold fandom to the show but it would be great to get someone better than Travis, What is Rob Brooks doing now, is he on the hawkeye game radio show?

Yeah, I think Rob would be great. He wouldn't be able to say much about kf because he has to interview him.

Anyone else think Travis sounds just like Tom Arnold?
Agree though, not a huge fan of his for many of reason listed above. Now if they wanted to make this real interesting they'd have DJK host LOL...

Listen to the 6:00 hour, it's way worse. He once went on about his fetish of pregnant women.

I tuned in last weekend to Soundoff and wasn't impressed. Was glad to hear Eddie on, but the other guys weren't very good.

WMT's call-in show is or was better than what Soundoff is. I know it's early, but the new hosts aren't good.

What about somebody like Larry Morgan? Didn't he used to do some PxP for Iowa football (I'm almost positive I heard his voice making the call on some of Tavian Banks' run in the YouTube video that was posted earlier this week)? I feel like he would be someone fans could connect with better, and he's got the background knowledge.

Plus, I think having Morgan on would be as close to Zabel as they could ever hope to come. Not that he's on Z's level, but that's a voice we're all familiar with (I REALLY miss having him call Iowa basketball games) and associate with some of the best times in Hawkeye sports.

It's funny that this topic gets brought up because as I was coming home from the last couple of games I tuned in for about 10 minutes and then tuned over to the other stations postgame show. It went through my mind that it was so bad I could see WHO scrapping it eventually. As a 40 year old there were two things that I have always taken for granted on football saturdays...being able to listen to Soundoff for basically the rest of my Saturday after the game was over...and then also listening to the 11:00 replay if it was a good game on WHO. This last Saturday it went through my head not to take it for granted.

I like to tune in and hear talk about the hawks at night. So later games allows that. We'll see how it is this Saturday. The callers are often entertaining.

I haven't listened but I anticipated people having issues with Travis. I figured people would like both Ross and Eddy.
