Just want to remind everybody

Just wanted to remind everybody that we won the game today and were 3-1. There are concerns like our defense up the middle with all the experience there. Getting whooped at times on the line of scrimmage in every game is concerning. Stupid penalties and such that have brought back touchdowns the past two weeks stink. Playcalling has been suspect at times....and everything else everyone else is ranting about. Feel free to rant, but then, at the end of the day remember its a long season. Games are individual events and we won today by being gritty and plugging away til we eventually went ahead. Its easy for us to look at it and say we should beat some team by 300 points, but as Miller often talks about, the other team has players who are trying to win the game also, and sometimes their players make plays too. Yeah the defense gave up too many rushing yards again, but..... we found a way today. We didn't find a way last week. If we win out or even lose a big ten game, high probability we will win the west and go to Indy for a chance to win the conference. That's the end goal. Literally this team has all its goals still ahead of it. They will have to play significantly better, but they know that. They know what they have to fix even more than we do, they know what they did wrong even more than we do. I personally trust this group to work it out, fix what they need to, and we shall see what happens. So complain about salaries, schedules, coaching, recruiting, play calling and everything else, its your right, and its part of being a fan.....but when your done, remember that the Hawks won a road big ten game today.

This is the problem I have. I read, after the Rutgers game, that Kirk said some things need to be done better. He said they need to coach better. Really? Isn't that what most have been saying? And after 18 years as the Iowa head coach shouldn't you know how to coach to the best of your ability? And if you aren't doing that day in and day out, you are not doing your job.

A lot of people got a taste of the good life last year and wanted a repeat. Which given our returning players, should have been doable. People are now realizing that New Kirk is back to Old Kirk and that we're going to be a non-factor come November. So you really can't blame them for not taking it well.

And why should they! If a team underperformes. It should be called out every time.

It's not that I expect 12-0, I just don't expect to struggle to get to 7-5.

Bingo. I didn't expect 12-0, I knew we'd lose some. But this team looks more like the one that got embarrassed by Stanford than the one the battled to the end against MSU.

What the hell...

We are all glad we won... but it also looks like were not very good.

Of course were all hoping that they get it together...

Just got home from NYC so don't know if it has been discussed, thought we should of put 3 on the board instead of going for it and they were called for illegal motion which we could of turned down and it would of been 3rd and 8 instead of 2nd and 13.Was treated nice by fans but was funny watching Iowa fans buying Rutger sweatshirts because they were cold.Had a great time in NYC but game was univentful,I know we won but it didn't feel like it.

Hope they wore them inside out! Lol

Per usual, well said.

Things that will get better: OL/DL performance. This will in turn help CJ out.
Things that might get better: Minimizing penalties.
Things that won't get better: WR separation.
