Yeah, we did whiff, thanks to Andersen, our HC who had no interest in him and then bolted for Oregon State. Chryst tried to get him but he'd already committed. As for who's better. The only stat that Stanley was significantly better than Hornibrook was in INTs. Neither QB had experienced WRs and the one we had we lost half way through the season. Neither team blocked particularly well when protecting the QB. You are right, our run game was much better, efficiency wise our pass game was too. If Stanley is AA caliber, Hornibrook is right there with him. As much as Chryst wanted Stanley, he's just as happy with Hornibrook.


BTW, Hornibrook is going to tear up the league this year. It's going to be a really good game if Stanley does too.

Hornibrook won't even come close to Nate this year!

And yes, Wisconsin owns Kinnick and it will continue as long as KF tries to match up and play physical with Wisconsin. Its a mismatch. Has been for nearly a decade.

Iowa needs to realize what it is. A team with a solid QB, great TEs, experience at WR, average at best OL, & unproven running backs. Most coaches would see that formula and try to throw the ball more going against the real bullies of the B1G. Iowa is going to most likely try to run right at you and we've all seen that movie over and over.

Yeah, so it will be fairer for Iowa. ;) Nah, not really. This is the first year in forever that we had some talented depth at that position. IF we get Davis back after his 2 week suspension, and that's not a given, we'll be more than okay. If we don't we may not be able to handle many nicks and bruises. Seriously doubt that we get Cephus back this season, if ever.

How's this for a bet. IF Hornibrook outperforms Stanley during the Badger/ Hawkeye game, you have to wear a Husker hat the whole day of the Iowa/Nebraska game. If Stanley outperforms, I have to wear a UM hat the whole day of the UW/UM game. We could pick others like our natural hatred for the Goofs, yours and ISU and mine UM or Tosu next year.

BTW I have a ISU hat for you. My brother played TE for Johnnie Majors' teams, decades ago.
