I think H Junkie is correct. They can practice on their own though. Our first Orange Bowl year, that team practiced all winter and summer.

During winter workouts the strength and conditioning coach conducts them and the coaching staff is allowed to observe two workouts a week. The reason this one was filmed was because the media was allowed to view it.
