Just got home from Kinnick. Observations inside. King is a stud.

It was cold. We were row 69 section 105 east stands. Crowd was great considering.

The Iowa CBs are studs. Lowery and King played amazing. King had 3 key pass break ups and supported the run like a senior, not a freshman. Lowery was shutting down guys all day. The secondary was pretty solid for the most partial day. Lowdermilk was out of position for a TD once but they were a solid unit all day otherwise.

King being from Michigan clearly had a chip on his shoulder. Can't wait to see this guy for another three years. He should be special.

Out of curiosity, was King highly recruited??

It's hard to believe watching him play that he is a freshman.... I think he has a chance to end up as best corner of ferentz era and there have been some good ones.

I had a feeling, watching on TV, that the DB's were getting it done. Over and over Gardner could not find anyone to throw to and tried to run.

By the way, check this headline on ESPN regarding our big win. roll eyes:mad:

I would be somewhat surprised if King stays all 4 yrs.

Obvious given is if he continues to play like he has, and continues to improve.

I don't mean to be telling stories outside of school; but our defense was killin it all day.

Stunned a 6 pt underdog? ESPN...a four letter word

The incredible part is that he wasn't. He was a 3 star guy who chose Iowa over the MAC, although Rivals shows Wisky and Indiana offering. I believe he commited to two MAC schools before eventually settling on Iowa. He had something like 29 career INT in high school, setting the Michigan career record.

Kind of puzzling, but we are the beneficiaries.

King got burned early in the year but he has gotten better every game. I think he could be one of the best corner backs that Iowa has ever produced by the time his college career is over.

But, but, but he was only a lowly MAC recruit....

He is going to be a 4 year starter if he stays that long. And he will he be playing on Sundays if he keeps it up.
