I saw the an article in today's paper written by Pat Harty of the Iowa City Press-Citizen about Iowa hosting a junior day event Saturday on campus and it read as follows:
The attention now shifts to the 2015 recruiting class.
Two of the state's top junior quarterbacks--Iowa City Regina's Drew Cook and Dowling Catholic's Ryan Boyle--will be among approximately 30 juniors from Iowa and from several Midwestern states in attendance. Cook and Boyle both led their teams to state titles this past season and to 14-0 reords.
Drew Cook also will attend a junior day event at Indiana University the following weekend. He was invited to a junior day at Illinois, but it's scheduled for the same time as Iowa's event on Saturday.
Marv Cook, Drew's dad and Regina's coach, played tight end at Iowa and in the NFL. He recently sent a highlight tape of Drew's junior season to several Big Ten schools.
"I love Big Ten football," Marv Cook said. "I'm a Big Ten football fan. I love all those schools."
I wonder who some of the other visitors will be attending this event.
I stumbled across one from Wisconsin for 2015 as follows:
RB Ricky Williams Edgerton, WI--Led state in rushing with 2,349 yards (9.5 per carry); he was an AP all-state selection, the first for Edgerton [enrollment: 538] since 1966.
