Don't football coaches evaluate kids against their high school competition without the benefit of an AAU circuit? Football coaches evaluate many more prospects and they don't have an AAU circuit to help them with it.
I haven't seen the article yet, but if they all have to play by the same rules, what is the difference? If you cut this time out, why would it make it harder on small schools? They don't have as big of a budget so I would think it would level things out. Okay, maybe there is an argument to be made for seeing a bunch of kids all at once, but if you are going to get in on kids then you will have to meet with them in their own back yard. Sometimes they play in tournaments or events where coaches are there watching but can't talk, under NCAA rules. By the way, coaches already recruit during the season, so that is not that big of a deal.
Again, I haven't seen the article. I am just commenting off of what others have mentioned on this thread. Who knows, maybe I'll read it and want to delete my post.
Okay, after now reading the article I have nothing to change or add. What is stated above is what I originally thought and I stand by it.
