Just saw on KCRG, that Julian Vandervelde had a job to do before reporting to Spring Practice today. He was selected to sing the National Anthem in The Fieldhouse before President Obama's speech. He said it was a little nerve racking, but he did get to meet the President.

FWIW: Miss Iowa accompanied him on the violin.

A lot of people must forget that he sang at the Alamo Bowl his freshmen year with both teams present and got a standing ovation from the Texas players after he was done.

A great guy with a lot of talent on and off the field.

And let's not forget, he was an ESPN favorite while representing Iowa in the LLWS as a lil tike...(6'2" 230lbs) if I remember right...AT THE AGE OF 12!

Cool Great honor.

Let's hope it is a omen to how much a#& he is going to kick in 2010 season zone schemes.
