Journey to the desert...

Just arrived at our friends house in Chandler, Arizona today. 62.5 hours and 5 states later.....can't wait for the game!!! Hope to see a lot of Hawk fans tailgating on Saturday!!

I'll be arriving in Tucson Thursday, with a beer in hand! What's everyone doing for tailgating? I was browsing the GOCATZ board and it sounds like they won't allow it until 2pm.... and that's just not Iowa style.. They're saying their fans are classy and friendly for the most part. Hopefully that's true.. GO HAWKS!

We won't be tailgating. I think we will hit the Hawk Huddle and then head over to the stadium. I read that they only have one tailgate lot and you have to get a pass for it which are hard to come by.

Heading out this morning (Wed) not back until Tuesday. Convenient that I own a place in Tucson where we'll be hanging.

I can't fly out there until Friday evening, because I have to give a talk somewhere. However, I'm staying there until Tuesday!

I can't wait for the game.

Where is the Hawk Huddle? And what time? If what you say is true about tailgating, I might as well just forget it, and surround myself with the fellow Hawk brethren.

For those of you driving to phoenix, I'm curious on what route you're taking to get there. It appears there are a couple of routes a guy could take. One that takes you south on I35 through OK City and then west on 40 or take W400/W54 west out of Wichita and hook up with 40 close to Albuquerque. Just interested if anyone has a preference and why you have the opinion.

May be a little late here, but native Iowa been living in Phoenix for 12 years when we drive back and forth the quickest route IMO is I 80 West thru Denver and then from Denver take I 25 South To Albuquerque and then I 40 West to Flagstaff and I 17 south from Flagstaff down to Phoenix, eventually you will hop on I-10 and head south of Phoenix to Tucson...... I also would HIGHLY recommend staying in Phoenix until Saturday morning and then head to Tucson, We roll deep in Black and Gold here in the Phoenix Metro and The SandBar in Scottsdale is our Flagship Game Watch/Phoenix I-club location, we are hosting a welcome party tonight there and a pregame party tomorrow night, TONS of scottsdale hotties and TONS of Hawkeye fans will be in attendance..... Hope to see ya!
