Jon's 2014 comparison to 2001 Banks/McCann

Kyle McCann was a good QB in 2001. He led the Big 10 in completion percentage with 66.3%, #2 in passing efficiency 146.1, and he was #3 in passing yards per attempt 8.0. In 2001 Banks completion % was lower with 60.3%, efficiency rating was lower at 145.7, but yards per attempt was higher with 8.6. They were both good QBs, but I liked the was McCann played that season too, and generally the rotation worked well. All of Kyle McCann's career to he was rotating starts, and that may or may not have helped his career either. Perhaps he would should have been the starter from 1998-2000 also. His numbers were also generally better than the QBs who started many of those games, Scott Mullen, Randy Reiners, and Jon Butjer. It is hard to say for sure though on any of these years.

I don't think Jc bests NW or OSU.

NW was a typical JC performance from JVB but with less sacks and dirt balls and OSU was one of Vandys 2 or 3 best games. Even though people want to bring up dropped ints, he threw some strikes for TDs that JC couldn't. Should have had one more but Terry Stross dropped it.

I am sorry, I should have explained my theory better. If Jake is still around, then Stanzi does not get injured vs. NW and Iowa wins vs. NW and OSU because Stanzi played QB for both games.

Why does Stanzi not get injured vs. NW? Because he got pulled against Indy that caused a chain reaction where things started differently against NW so the play where Stanzi got hurt never happened.

I think I just remembered why I never try to explain this theory. Lol

Banks was also black, the majority of two QB systems feature a white and black QB. But yes both Banks and Rudock shouldn't have had to share time with the other QB's.
