I still remember Bo Bower chasing Saqueon Barkley up the sideline after realizing that he couldn't stay with him.
It was like watching Forrest Gump trying to catch the bus.
too funny

I think at this point Hockaday might be their best option at MLB with Jones being the #2 guy.
He definitely was amped up... he kept falling for the fake and getting sucked up into traffic. Hopefully he can slow things down.
Years ago I had a young, female Springer Spaniel. I was very disappointed with her in that she was the most timid "hunting dog" I ever owned. I tried to teach her to hunt but she was so afraid she didn't want to go out into the woods and when she did, she would barely wander more than 1-2 feet from my feet. One day, giving it another try, we were out hunting Ruffed Grouse. By chance we walked upon an unseen Grouse and about one foot from me the Springer bumped into the Grouse and it flew off wildly to live another day. From that moment on she loved to hunt and ended up being the best hunter I ever owned. She changed from a lap dog to a born hunter in one second.
I had given up on her. The transformation was amazing.
If you get a chance watch the replay. It is not like watching the coaches video, but focus on the linebacker play. It was more than being just amped up.......it was like he wasn’t reading his keys at all, just guessing. By the middle of the 1st qtr. he was just reacting and wasn’t reading at all.
@hawkeyegamefilm mentioned the same thing:
I also saw it live from the stadium. When he got back in midway through the 4th, he did seem to be settled down a bit. There was a run play when he exploded through the back and planted him, showing his short-area quickness.
It was probably be a painful film session for him yesterday, but I am sure he learned a lot.

To be clear, I’m not saying Jones is done. I think the WIL spot is where he might best fit. Maybe Welch or Doyle at MLB is the way to go? Important decisions ahead of Week 2.

The ISU game will likely be a tough, but after that you have UNI that might be the stretch where the light bulb comes on for Jones.
Gosh I read another thread on this and everyone was talking about Doyle or moving Welch in and Colbert to a starter! Jones did have some real problems being in the wrong gaps and he did get jerked early, But is the coaching staff that off base telling everyone he was the only LB that had a solid hold on the job to start the season? Maybe he just doesn't have the football aptitude to play MLB especially as that's the one to make the calls, or maybe he was just so psyched he made first game mistakes. But its hard to believe the coaches that were so high on him are going to throw the towel in after one game? Hope not
The QB hit the receiver for TD on a deep post pattern.Remember the players don't see what we see from the TV angle.
As DB in high school I remember how hard it was to see through all the linemen to the backfield. I had to watch the tight end and react on that read. There were plays that started and ended and I never saw what happened through all the players.
