I don't know about Izzo but I'd rather have a 6'7 freshman like Bridges than a 6'9 Schilling or 6'9 Carter out there. Bridges is a monster. Also Ward is 6'8 250 lbs plus was ranked better than 6'9 253 lbs Cook and I think we all feel good about Cook
But Fran and Izzo don't emphasize the same things in their programs. When Iowa was dominating in January, they weren't dominating on the boards. When Izzo has a dominating team, they always kill on rbs and rb margin. With the personnel they have this year, I don't know that they can do that.

I think they'll be just fine this year. Injuries are unfortunate but I think Izzo can adjust to get his team to max out at the right time

I think the two freshmen will do a good job, but its a long season and they are only freshmen. They don't have backup that would be very big. It will be interesting. I think I read where Ward has lost a lot of weight since getting to Michigan State so the season will probably be long for him.

Ward will be coming off the bench. He's a top 40 recruit. I think they'll be pretty solid up front

I read where they think Schilling might be back for the conference slate. He probably won't be in basketball shape if he is.

Schilling, Bridges, Ward and Goins will be one of the better front courts in the league. Ward also dropped 25 lbs to get down to 250, he is going to be a monster for years to come. Bridges will probably go pro after this year so hopefully only have to face him for one year
