We are quiet tonight because the NFC and AFC championship games are being played. I chose to watch those games and record the Iowa game and I will watch it tomorrow. Bottom line is we won against a bad team. Yes it was on the road and yes we seem to be playing better today than we have in quite some time but lets not get carried away. We beat an Indiana team that has 3 wins in conference....and those 3 wins have come against Michigan, Minny and PSU. Those 3 teams join Iowa and Indiana to round out the bottom 5 in conference. Thats right rosy red glasses, the bottom 5 teams are beating up on each other...BFD.
Our next game is against fOSU at home on Weds. That game will give everyone a clear indication of where we are at from a progress standout from the beginning of the season to now.

All I'm going to say in conclusion is that this is a young team that is getting tougher and getting better. People are forgetting how truly young this team is - in this age of the internet everyone has patience and an attention span that lasts about 5 minutes. A lot of these "experts" on this message board are going to eat their words when Lickliter turns this thing around. It won't happen this year (too young) and it might not happen next year, but it is going to happen. Barta was sitting right behind the bench and smiling ear to ear tonight. He knows how hard this team is working. People doubted Ferentz as well........remember?

This is a bad post.. Horrible post... You get a 1 start in my memory bank! Look, if you are gonna call out one person, you better call out every freakin person who said something about Lick that was negative. Secondly, to back up the ones who don't like Lick, tell me what he has done with the Iowa program to make you think that people have been wrong. One win lately against Indiana? Come on there are upsets all the time in this college play and even proffesional, and especially in basketball. When Lick shows us a good season, maybe just then you can call people out but do not call out just one person. Thats just not cool at all IMO. Thats all

Edit: I take it back on the name calling..."Numb nuts" is one of my all-time favs and it made me laugh...it's allowed!

I'm pretty confident that if we win Wednesday night against Ohio State we'll see a bunch of threads on this message board saying that Ohio State is not very good. What the heck does this team need to do to get some of these people behind them?
People have the evidence in front of them that Iowa is getting better but they are so cynical that they choose not to believe. Indiana defeated a very good Minnesota team a few days ago and earlier defeated a ranked Pittsburgh team on the road. Penn State had Wisconsin on the ropes today. There is not that much difference from top to bottom in this conference.
Go to the game Wednesday and get behind this team. They deserve your support. Heck, we had Michigan State on the ropes the other night.
I am emotional because I truly believe that this team is getting better. The last 4 games prove it.
What good does it do to be so negative when they are losing? This team needs our support.
If I am childish or emotional in my support of the Hawks, so be it -- that is what a fan is supposed to do!!

Since Lickliter got a new house and is putting a lot of money into redoing it, he seems to be planning on being here for quite a while.
Add in that the team is playing better and if they can continue to play better for the rest of the season, one would be hard pressed to see any justification to release him at season's end.

Did you watch the game??? Our bigs rocked, our guards weren't to good. Indiana played horrible. Yes, it was a great win and a great game. However, we looked much better against MSU. IF we played the game we did today against them we woulda lost by 40. Trust me, no one with a brain will say OSU is bad if we win but who is gonna guard ET???

I feel asleep, woke up to see the score and still hope Lickliter gets fired before I fall asleep again. I have to admit that they've shown a little progress the past couple week but that happened last season to. The team developed a bit of a personality with Jake Kelly and Peterson and look what happened with that. I'm 100% confident that a key piece to this team will transfer after the season.

I was too busy watching football. Sorry.
I watched for about 3 minutes in the first half. We were up 16-6 when I turned it on.
When I left hoops for FB, the BB game was tied at 16.
Sort of surprised to see the final score.
