Jon Miller I have a question for you

How do you see the Running Back situation working out next season?

how do you have this much talent and keep it all happy?

are the incoming recruits in Coker and Johnson automatically getting redshirted... I know its too early to think that since they haven't signed LOI.

This wasn't addressed to me, but I thought I'd weigh in anyway.

I don't think you can "count" on injuries, so I'm a little worried that we are going to have TOO much talent to keep all the guys happy with their touches. I don't know if we'll look at changing roles (maybe moving Wegher to more of a slot back type player or something), changing positions (Brinson to safety, Rogers to FB?), or simply split the time.

These are completely hypothetical, so don't hold me to them. I'm excited about the depth, but I worry about the touches.

T I'm excited about the depth, but I worry about the touches.

thats my concern also... i would hate to lose any of these guys because of a lack of touches... they dont seem like selfish players but when you experience the rush of playing and being significant how can you just take a back seat and then wait for your turn again?

could Brinson become a LB... he may be a lil short

Too much talent at RB. I'd love to have that problem for the remaining three weeks. I think our running game really suffered for most of the game (until we broke it open). Does ARob have any chance of coming back???

Next year, Iowa will have Hampton, Robinson & Wegher as a top three, based off of experience and what we know. Who knows if Brinson can play into that or not; we just don't have any data at this point. He redshirted last year and is losing this year to injury. But that's four scholarship tailbacks.

Johnson probably redshirts based on ACL injury this year. Perhaps Coker can get into the mix, but you'd like to redshirt him, too to put some separation in the classes. you will have FOUR sophomore running backs.

And unless the kid is Shonn Greene as a senior, when he is a freshman, I think he redshirts

Kirk knows what he gets with A Rob and Wegher...kids that don't fumble the ball and are reliable. We saw a good audition from Hampton, but while he looked good last year, he was spelling Greene after Shonn had battered the opposition, but more importantly, after the 2008 Iowa offensive line had battered the the opposition.

Iowa will be in a very good spot next year at RB, better than they were at this year...and also for the forseeable future. I envision a RB by Committee for the next several years, unless someone just emerges. If that happens, Wegher is going to be on the field in other ways...he is just too talented to keep of the field.

It's a great problem to have.

Feels great as a hawk fan to think we have that problem. We know that KF is a great coach, because of what he and his staff do with the talent we get. To know by our depth now, that all the hard work put in by this staff should keep this team strong for the next few years is a very positive sign.

I think if hampton comes back at full strength, i could see weigher becoming a tim dwight all purpose type player.he has too much talent and heart to leave him on the sideline, but i don't see him breaking in the top 2 next season if hampton is able to come back fully recovered. and we still don't know anything about brinson, and don't forget about rodgers, he may be in the mix next year too.

but having said my opinion, lets finish this year first.!
