Kirk said nothing is in stone. It has not been listed anywhere yet.
Not having the practice after dangling it out there - not a good idea from a program that is struggling with positive PR these days.
Nothing would say Iowa football like getting people excited for something like this and then not end up doing it.
False - nothing says Iowa football like even considering having an open practice in a high school stadium. That's like Northwestern level bad, but worse.
Were going to schedule Jerk Twice stadium, but Valley's was nicer.

Pretty sure they threw PR out the window when they scheduled the thing on 4/20.
There is a big difference between having a practice in a high school stadium and playing games in a high school stadium which is how Northwestern does it.
At first I was planning on driving to Iowa City for the open practice. Then I started planning around the 4/20 date at Valley Stadium. Now, I'm about ready to throw up my hands and say screw it. Wife keeps asking if it's ok to plan for something else that weekend and I keep telling her I don't know yet and then she gets mad at me.
Hey Kirk, so far your way of thanking the western part of the state is really ******* me off!
Sounds familiar. I can relate. Can't they see how important Hawkeye sports is?
I try and tell her all the time. She always replies "Is it really that important?" I tell her "Well, it is to me" which makes me sound like a jack***. They should just know and not make us spell it out for them
Buddy, it's the spring practice. Make it sound important, then go to the tulip festival or whatever she wants to. Keep the goodwill in your back pocket and parlay it into a Rose Bowl trip come January.
Of course, the good will reservoir is illusory, because it is always trumped by the wife's next plan.
