Jon - Chasson Randle

You'll excuse me if I don't buy your claim that you follow Iowa Basketball up close more than 99% on this board. Why would someone with a Cyclown screen name follow Iowa basketball so closely? And what makes you think you're sooo much closer to the program and more knowledgeable than 99% of us? If you're going to post in an Iowa forum, try to resist your natural temptation to sound like a blowhard. Remember, "It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt." -Abraham Lincoln.

Do not doubt him jshawks! I once listened to Murph and Andy read an e-mail from a Clone fan, listing EVERY single time that something positive was said about Hawkeye Football, that wound up not coming to fruition by KXnO personalities, dating back to quotes by Steve Deace when he had his afternoon show, complete with the month and year the bad predictions were made and by whom! Trust a Clone fan when they say they follow Iowa closely, because they DO! It always has and always will, give them more pleasure than following their own team! (Not all, but there are more of them than you'd think!)

Yes, he was in Michigan today and he flew into Quad Cities and was going to meet w. Randle. Randle had Stanford and BC in today during the school day during PE Class. So, for you to bring this holier than thou attitude is unfortunate when you do not have any idea what you are talking about.

Easy there KG, all Columbus was doing is stating the facts as he knew them.

You seem to have other information and Columbus simply asked what your sources are...why are you getting all worked up over something like that when all you have to do is tell him what your sources are????

I suppose Randle is a longshot for Iowa, but I will say that getting him would be a huge coup for Fran and would go a long way to proving that he can turn this ship around quicker than anyone could imagine. That said, if he misses on Randle, it does not mean he will not turn it,just as far as a PR triumph,it would be tremendous.

I really think that a big part of the attendance jump under SA in year 1 and 2 was directly related to his signing that big class 6 months after arriving at Iowa. Give us hope for the future, and fans will come back immediately, and signing top recruits by the start of the first season, constitutes hope for the future.

I don't doubt that following Iowa for a Clown fan is immensely more interesting than following ISU, it's the statement that he is closer to the program than 99% of us that I find ludicrous.

I don't think Fmac will do anything to threaten the chance of losing Paige. Paige is the #1 choice, I'm not sure how the stars line up in terms of which class Randle Clyburn, and Paige are in but it would have to be laddered so that Paige would not perceve the loss of pt. IMO of course

It's cool jshawks...I just figured he either meant "closely" or that he's that one guy from Iowa City who decided as a kid, to be an Iowa State fan just because he's arrogant enough to want to be "that a-hole" who likes to antagonize everyone and he has no REAL love for Iowa State...might not even be a Cyclone fan at all, just using it as a cover for his love of trolling.

Holy crap...that does explain why he's here more than his own team's site! I gotta be close with this!

I would think that an uptempo system, close porximity to family, having a network broadcast every game on tv and early playing time will be a draw for any recruit. Couple those factors with the $45 million dollar upgrade, and you could see a cat like that playing at Iowa. I would think that he at least would be giving the Hawks a serious look in the 2011 class. If we can add some nice parts over the next two seasons, there is enough already in place to win some games in the next two seasons.

Clyburn is 2010
Randle is 2011
Paige is 2012
Jok is 2013

Would love to get the last three.
Randle is a combo
Paige is a pg
Jok will be a small forward unless he grows to 7ft.
Put those three in an Iowa lineup, and they would be in great shape.
