Jok...

Peter Jok on Purdue's grabby defense: "They were holding me. (Refs) told coach I was acting. I guess I’ve got to stop acting, I don’t know.”

- Chad Leistikow per Twitter

I was ROFL with him.

Jok could pick up a wrestling scholarship after getting mugged this game. Maybe if he's at the right weight Brands would take him.

I'm curious to hear joks nba potential. Does he get drafted next year? If he does, and assuming uthoff does, that would be 4 straight years of iowa having an nba draftee. That has to be some sort of record for iowa I would assume.

I was in row 20, section E today. Could see the court very well.

JOK got grabbed more times than a stripper at the Lumber Yard. Over and over.

Refs were missing those calls big time.

He's going to have to get used to it, because if anyone's seen Indiana play, that's what they do. They grab, push, whine, etc. Really an extension of their coach. Hate watching them.

I was there too. I don't think they missed them. They just didn't blow their whistle, but they were quick to call us for ticky tack fouls.
At one point in the 2nd half we were whistled for something like 14 fouls to Purdue's 7. Before Purdue had to start fouling and the refs had to start using their whistles both ways. I kept track for awhile.

Didn't matter in the end. Great win. Good crowd involvement at CHA. The atmosphere inside CHA ALMOST starting to approach 1980's form.

But we have the lamest halftime experience. We honored former letter winners and the PA guy rushed through their names so fast the guys barely had time to wave. I guess because they had to get back to the pattern of ABSOLUTELY NOTHING happening on the court except a woman twice throwing a frisbee-like toy trying to land it on the US Bank plastic tarp to win I believe $50. Seriously. And then for the next 10 minutes absolutely nothing happened on the court. Kind of funny/sad. Don't know how far away some of those guys came but they literally had like a half a second to step forward and wave.

It was clear the refs were trying to knock a down a peg in this game. Not sure why, probably Tom Izzo made a few phone calls into the B1G office this past week. He runs the league you know.

To bad for the refs, it didn't work.

Right on dude. I guess the corporate $pon$or gets more time than the ex Iowa players. Imagine the effort it took to get them there, line them up, etc. Then, as you said, the announcer rushed through the names. Was sort of sad actually. As was the jersey presentation to Roy Marble.

Yes. I was at CHA the day Roy was there. Combining that with Senior Day was poor planning as well. It really is kind of mind boggling how Barta and his people just seem clueless when it comes to this stuff. He really only has one focus and that is $$$. He could at least pretend to be somewhat balanced in his approach.

I know people on here will call me negative or whatever and that's fine. But it is just mind boggling to me the lack of awareness/appreciation/respect for the fans this guy has.

It is one thing to take for granted the students and the common fan, but he seemingly does it to former players as well.

Plus, you would think other sponsors would be lining up to get a piece of the action. Instead we see the same old stuff year after year. We have a decent business school right across the river. Couldn't he tap some of that creativity to spice up his marketing department? Just think of the potential bump in revenue!!

Jok was obviously getting grabbed, held, etc. but he played through it and still played well. That's a huge step for Pete. I'm sure he will have to deal with it again at some point. Some guys get taken completely out of their game.

Barta is having a very good year. Whatever he's doing or not doing. If the major teams keep any semblance of this success next year, gonna be pretty hard to question his methods.

My one complaint about Jok is he commits quite a few dumb fouls. He had at least 2 against Purdue last night. He always seems to get a reach-in foul around half court just trying to stab at the ball.

Maybe thats how you lead the league in steals though...
