On the flip side the first true freshman to play all 4 years without a NCAA tournament bid since the mid 70s was Jarryd Cole. 2006 was the first class without a NCAA tournament bid but none of the freshman stayed all 4 seasons at Iowa (Tyler Smith & Josh Crawford).

Yep, so both Jok and Meyer can start a new streak.

Hopefully Fran has another good recruiting class cooking for 2014 so we have sustained NCAA Tournament invitations.

Trying to go back and find the last Hawkeye to play in 4 NCAA tournaments. The last time Iowa played in the NCAA tourney in 4 consecutive seasons would have started with the 1985-86 season.

For the life of me I cant find a roster for that year anywhere to see who would have been freshmen on that team and played in 4 straight NCAA tourneys.

Jok has a chance to accomplish that feat, starting next year.

Iowa was in the tourney 85-89, so five straight years...also 5 straight years 79-83.

That said, if Iowa were to make four straight tourney's during Joke's tenure, he would be in a very small group of Hawkeye alums

Nice to feel like the stench of the last 6-7 years is being lifted from this program.

Fran has been everything we could have asked for from the moment he was hired.

Engaging to the public, tireless recruiter, program and player developer and the captain of a very entertaining brand of basketball. I think we saw more dunks this year alone than in his predecessors career at Iowa.

This team has a real chance at the NCAA for the next three years. If Fran can continue to recruit the sky is the limit.

Get ready for a long, long ride Farmer. Fran has a train going here, and it is not going to stop any time soon. This locomotive hasn't even come close to reaching top speed. We will be going to the NCAA tournament for at least a minimum of 3 straight years. There are no if's, and's or but's about it.
That 4th year will only have Jok & Meyer, but Fran's recruiting has been very good. It will only continue to improve, now that we are winning. It is time for you to Believe.

This is what makes this place awesome.

All in the same 3 page thread we have somebody suggesting Jok may not be good enough to crack the rotation next year and have to redshirt and we have another person suggesting he may be good enough to go pro before he has exhausted his eligibility.
