He deserves a suspension just for being dumb enough to end up associating with these snakes, who, not surprisingly, threw him under the bus about taking money. Also, throw in the 3rd quarter for his parents allowing him to be put in this position. P.T. Barnum's words still ring true.

This is the greatest show on earth?

USC should seriously try to open their case again. There is no way their penalty could reasonably be held up as justifiable now.

if I was every non $EC school that got a punishment worse than this in the past decade I'd sue the NCAA for bias.

He has a friend who is his handler/advisor - I'm sure his old man was advising him to upgrade there but you can't have an agent...

Will this kind of fanfare surround every Underclassman heisman winner going forward? Has society become so juvinile and crazy about fame? Or is it the digial age that is fanning the flames

The NCAA gets roasted for this decision, but they simply did not have the concrete evidence that Johnny got paid. Everyone knows he did, but it is not what you know, it is what you can prove. I think they did what they could on this weak case. And yes, Johnny has a good lawyer already. ....and he has kept him busy. Anyone that read the ESPN THE MAG article on Johnny knows that this kid is very immature and a powder keg ready to blow.

If things go as they should in that game, wouldnt he probably sit out a half anyway??

Unreal stupid.

Ha no kidding. If they are up 3 or 4 tds going into the 2nd half do you bring out Manziel to "get him reps" And if you do is he with the 2nd team O to do it? I hope that's what they get and that it's not a closer then 3 score game at the half. That's little picture obviously. Big picture it's just a beyond ridiculous. What I thought was beyond BS was how they were saying that's it the book is closed. So if a broker comes out and does decide to cooperate with NCAA and has proof of money being exchanged via receipts, video however the NCAA basically says they have a no double jeopardy clause? WTF is that?? Who are these nameless faceless rule makers in the NCAA anyway?

The NCAA didn't provide much concrete evidence when nailing PSU for four years of large scholarship losses and a $60M fine.

Yes they did. They had a witness that said he was paid $7500 and a ton of signed merchandise. That's more than enough. Why else would he sign all that merchandise?

Good thing it's only for a half because there offense if going to need him. Right now Rice is up 14-7 and A&M looks terrible on defense.
