Sprained knee, OUT against Indiana. After that who knows and Michigan is coming up. Saw on ESPN scroll.

Yeah I am a total moron. Just clicked on ESPN.com and saw he was questionable but it sounds like he is hurting maybe. My fault folks...

James White and Montee Ball will fill in nicely behind that line. There's also been speculation on the badger boards about Clay already looking to the NFL and not focusing on this season. Not a big loss IMO.

Gang, look, there isn't a chance in hell Wisconsin loses to IU, IU is just that bad, (dude couldn't catch the ball to beat us LOL)
just really too bad that michigan isn't this week.....

although very good point previous posters made--- Montee Ball and White (rusty or not) will do fine, ball has made improvements from last year.

If he has any brains, he should look at the NFL careers of Ron Dayne and T.J. Duckett. His best days are soon to be behind him, and he would be wise to focus on what remains of his college career.

If he's going to go the route of Dayne and Duckett, he'd be wise to focus on getting paid sooner rather than later.

If teams see him as another Dayne, he's probably not going to be selected early in the draft. Either way, he's a senior, so he's gone after this year. So there's no reason not to focus on his college season. He can protect himself in regards to injuries, that's fair enough. But if his head isn't really in the games at hand, he's being foolish, because he's not likely to have a great NFL career. Guys like Mike Hart knew they weren't likely to hit it big in the NFL, so they dedicated themselves to their college career, because that was what they were going to be remembered for. A-Rob is most likely going to be that kind of player. And Clay only needs to look at Duckett and Dayne to realize that he is likely going to be that kind of player who makes their name in college before disappearing in the NFL.

I think he is only a junior this year

That's right, I forgot he redshirted in '07. Still, he shouldn't be focused on the NFL right now. If he knows he's leaving after this year, that's fine. But he still needs to keep his head in the game at Wisconsin, and not be daydreaming.

I don't buy the fact that Indiana can't beat Wisky,we were really close to losing to them last week.

Wisconsin has been a bit underwhelming IMO. If they run the ball and chew up clock they will have the edge. If they run the ball for big gains, score fast and Michigan does the same...a track meet like Michigan/Illinois...then I really like Michigan. I don't think anyone can stop Michigan from scoring and I don't think Michigan can stop anyone. I think Michigan just has to break even on turnovers and they will win.

From Athlon:

Wed 11/10 - Wisconsin running back John Clay (knee) practiced on Tuesday and there is a chance he'll play against Purdue. “My guess, by the reaction John had, he’s going to be ready to play,” coach Brett Bielema said on Tuesday after he bumped into his burly back in the training room. “He’s a guy that takes a lot of pride in playing. He was ready to play (last) Saturday.”
Impact: With Montee Ball running well and James White (knee) expected back, Clay is a tough start this week. There is a good chance that even if he is ready to go, Wisconsin could limit his carries.
