Using that logic which I don't disagree with, shouldn't Iowa fans complain about KF's offensive philosophy rather than GD's? We are, unfortunately, getting KF's offensive philosophy even though it isn't productive. This conservative offense of KF's works if the defense is stout. Iowa's defense isn't stout.
To any GD hater, how does one explain the offenses of 2015 (and 2014) that were a big part of those team's successes, no, those GD offenses bailed out the defense in those seasons? Tell me how the GD's offenses of those 2 seasons screwed up in 2015 and 2014. You see, GD has been OC for 5 seasons. Twenty-twelve through 2016. His first season was like most other coach's first season. Look at, for example, ISU's first season, a season of learning and transition.
Twenty-fourteen and 2015 were excellent seasons when compared to other offenses under KF's tenure as HC. Compare those seasons to this current season of O-Line changes, QB injures, receivers going down, receivers transferring, receivers graduating and KF's traditionally mind-numbing offensive demands.
IMO, the style of offense is the villain of GD's offense not the results of that offense. Maybe some posters have a hard time understanding different philosophies. Maybe an open mind would best serve everyone.
I mean, just look at any NFL passing offense. None of those teams have static routes. Receivers get open.
Sometimes I think I'm talking to Nebraska fans.
