Jim Delaney is not a guy you betray. Tressel's inaction or error of omission makes Delaney look bad after he went to bat for the five players involved. I've have to believe there are some folks on the administrative academic side that are furious about this turn of events. I do not think Tressel survives beyond this season. The NCAA will do its thing in August and Ohio State will be forced to absolve itself by removing Tressel.
I'm sure that the other 11 conference schools are embarrassed by this turn of events. Delaney has assuredly gotten calls of concern from officials of other schools about the damage it has done to the reputation of the conference. In turn, Delaney probably has told Gordon Gee to clean this up. In my opinion when OSU gets sanctioned by the NCAA then Ohio State will take the corrective action of removing the coach Tressel.
