From his interview on TOS it appears we are recruiting him as a slot receiver and not at QB... Do you think they will ever reevaluate that? Im interested to hear what all you "Iowa needs a mobile QB" guys have to say about this.

I saw that and was hoping maybe he'd be a QB prospect. However, I have never seen him play and don't know what he can throw like. Maybe he'd be a better WR than QB, I don't know. Going ot have to go with the coaches on this one. Doesn't sound like's he's hung up on being a QB though either so that is good. Just hope he sees some positives to being a WR in Iowa's system. Said he was comparing Iowa and ISU's system the other day.

Would you choose Iowa over ISU if you were a mobile qb? Especially if Iowa was trying to recruit you as a receiver given we haven't turned out very many good receivers.

If Iowa truly wanted to got that route, he would be the only one, so maybe he would be interested in that. I have no idea what he is thinking or what the staff is thinking, but I do know Iowa needs kids like this, no matter what spot he ends up at.

You're absolutely right. Especially considering he's in our own backyard. Just look at his first play on the highlight film. When was the last time we had a qb with even half that athletic ability (aside from Banks)?! Putting him in the slot would seem to be a mistake. This is the kind of guy you want touching the ball as much as possible. I'd be more than disappointed if he ended up a Clown.

I'm with you, I'd like to see a QB with that ability to run as well as pass the ball, however, he talked a lot in the article about the WR and watching them. Simply put, no matter where he plays, Iowa could use that athletic ability, however I'd love to see it at QB.

2014 is such a huge year for instate talent

QB/WR/ATH Scheel
OT Piershbacher
OG Render
WR Lazard

Man if Iowa could get all of those guys that would be amazing. I think they get 2 or 3, but I doubt they get all 4. My biggest doubt is Lazard, and then Schell.

We have no shot at Lazard.

I think Lazard is headed out of state. If he goes to ISU, that will hurt, granted they seem to have a good system for WR there and his dad played at ISU. So wouldn't be surprising, but not good either.

Pierschbacher is a lock to come here.

From what I've heard Lazard will go to Iowa State unless a really big boy like LSU or Bama comes calling

This happened with Mediapolis' Ertz who committed to Kansas St. He wants to play QB, Iowa wanted him to move to WR, thus no Iowa for him. He's an athlete for sure, but a great dual threat QB.

Out of state, LSU is close to offering from what I've seen and Nebraska has offered already. His offer list will be very impressive.

And that is the problem Iowa can't even keep the best talent in State and hasn't been able to lately at all and that is major problem/
