Just heard that Jarmari Harris didn't make the tip to Maryland and has evidently quit the team.

Also, it was kinda quaint still, when this only happened at bowl season.

Also, also: No discredit to Harris if he's doing this for completely selfish reasons. Whywouldntya? At this point, the imbalance between the inherent values of playing college football are way outweighed by the financial reasons of football.

I will say I wish the balance would swing back the other way some.

He wont have to hurt his stock getting burned by Felton of Maryland
If true, I had the exact same thought. The Terps have the best pass game in the BTen, and they love to test the corners on long, sideline fly routes -- which are almost impossible to defend. I'll be shocked if they don't create at least 2 pass interference penalties on Iowa tomorrow night -- and that's WITH Harris in the lineup. Wow.

Not sure how I feel about this. To me, it's about how his teammates view it. If they feel like he's hurting their chances of success, then I'm not sure I'm in favor of it. A lot of them are in similar situations (trying to get to the NFL) and may get it. Others see it as a chance to step in and earn time. The last people I care about is what the fans think. Remember, he did give us 6 years.

Is it worth it to get hurt and screw up a chance at a potential 7 or 8 figure contract (for him and others) to help us beat a couple of shit teams so we can get to the Tampax bowl? Does it hurt us? Yep. Does it give our 2's a chance to see what they can do? Yep. What it really does is hurts our depth, but we don't need a 2nd string if we go to the Tampax bowl.

He's opting out to prepare for the draft. I've said it in the past that I wouldn't be surprised if this becomes a very common thing in the near future. Here it is...
Well NIL allows these guys to all have agents. Not that they weren't all in guys ears prior as well but now they are all the time and I'm sure this was their advice to him. You'd think he mighta wanted to suit up for Senior day.... But since we aren't going to playoffs or a bowl game that means squat jack the risk just isn't worth the reward for him I guess.

I don't like that he's doing this or others that I'm sure will. But I totally understand it. To put yourself in his shoes or his families I get it. If he can get to be a 2nd/3rd rounder that'd be huge. But if he got hurt he could go totally undrafted. You can't make up that $ if you're a guy like him.

I was wondering if it might be the same reason as McNamara, he got beat out this week.

Maybe Jayboy Watson gets his first start!

WTF

Well, he is the #4 ranked cornerback

Probably a solid decision on a questionable season

Pulling QBs off the street on downtown IC to fill the roster

Thanks for the link. I didn’t realize he is projected to be the 4th corner off the board. I saw him as a 5th or 6th round pick. If he can get that 40 time down a little bit lower, he could definitely move up a round or two. Take out the UCLA game, he has been really good this year.
