James Daniels Decision

I think he stays. Like the article said, Center isn't a coveted position at the moment, and he's had a couple of rough games this year. Plus, I've heard absolutely nothing regarding his draft prospects.

I would be shocked if he left. After some of his performances this year there is for sure some room to grow especially with the high expectations he had. I also think he needs to be able to play a full season being healthy, which to be fair I think is some reason why his performances have been up and down

One '19 mock draft (I know, but still) has him going in the 7th round. Another site has him a 7th-UDA rating for this year and round 4-6 for next year. Don't see the reason for urgency.

We also had LeShun Daniels on our radio show last week talking about James' decision. Here's the pod:

Speaking of the HN Podcasts, just wanted to say that these the best made podcasts I hear on the interwebz.

Just spent the last half hour listening to BHGP Pants Party podcast and it was absolutely terrible. I had half a mind to send them a note to audition for a spot. Kudos to them for their courage to do it, but dang, they ought to farm out the voice talent

Didn't think he had the season to make scouts drool. Be very surprised if he wants the life of a 7th round draft pick. I don't think they even get lockers.

If there is interest, he should go. Centers seldom go in the first three rounds. Staying to improve draft position invites injury issues.

Usually I offer my services to represent these kids as their agent. But in this case I will recommend that Daniels go back to school and let me be his agent after next season. don't worry, my sports agency will still be there next year.

Thank you. This particular podcast is from the radio show I do on Friday's for KGYM in Cedar Rapids. We do a Hawkeye hour from 6-7 every Friday and usually have a Hawkeye guest.

Last night we had Iowa QB commit Spencer Petras: http://www.kgymradio.com/episode/12-22-17-hour-3/

If you really want to have some fun, check out our interview with Matt Roth from earlier this month: http://www.kgymradio.com/episode/12-2-17-hour-3/

Didn’t even know you guys did a radio show. I listened to the Daniels segment, have to say you guys do a bang up job. Will be a future listener. Much better than the existing Hawkeye pods.

The article said the NFL draft advisory board gave him a positive review which typically meant 1st/2nd round.

Surprised he is even considering. To me, it seemed every other play he was getting trucked over. Needs another year with Doyle and give some better film for scouts to look at.

ditto on the above
whiffed many times and seemed confused in blitz pkg assignments throughout the year
porcelain doll history as well
good but not that good
