Jaguars Claim Stanzi off Waivers

He probably won't. He couldn't beat out Brady Quinn, and it is not because he was unfairly treated.

It's unfair to compare him to Quinn when he never got a chance to play behind the 1st team. All we can really go off is the eye test in preseason games at this point. I just think it was bull **** he didn't get PT last year because he looked like he was capable of managing a game at the very least. This year who knows, he looked as capable as Bray in the preseason game I watched. Bray just has the analysis that he has more upside, which was reasonable imo w/ his arm.

Why was it BS? Real men make real men money to make these decisions. If Stanzi could play, he would have played. Simple as that.

I'm was convinced the Chief's management has ties to Al Qaeda. I thought it was Ricky's all american image that was keeping him on the bench. What better way to weaken the psych of American by keeping our patriotic leaders buried under the filth and grime of mediocrity (Alex Smith).

Then I found out Al Qaeda, their PR director, has a brother Joe Qaeda, and a wife and two kids who live in Overland Park, Kansas.

My theory went out the window. I think I'm prepared to accept the fact that Ricky must have ****** off Andy Reid by sleeping with his wife and his daughter. It's the only plausible explanation as to why a 3rd string QB with his talent and experience would be cut.

The only thing that I question about the chiefs and Stanzi was them continuing to play Palko when it was evident giving Ricky a shot couldn't do any harm. Hopefully he has a better chance with the jaguars. If not, still not bad for a guy to stick as long as he has in the league.

J'ville had to say something like, 'Yeah, we saw tape on Stanzi and liked him', to hopefully avoid a New England-like scandal 'cause J'Ville plays the Chefs the first game of season.

Maybe the Jaguars like Stanzi ?? I doubt if Stanzi cares, either way.

SIAP.

Hey, however you can make money! Stanzi as future Iowa OC? I think the kid will do well for himself after football.

I agree. Also Kurt Warner was a worthless qb. If he was any good he would have played in the NFL right away and not have to play for the Barnstormers. Simple as that.

Absolutely. Real men made the real decision to cut Wes Welker in '04, to cut James Harrison 3 times, to cut Jack Kemp and Johnny Unitas. And it's a good thing the Mariners' real men dumped Randy Johnson, cuz he was obviously washed up. If they could play, they would have played. Simple as that.

Player evaluation is an exact science, and anyone who tells you otherwise is a fool.

Leave the steelers/Harrison out of this, they eventually figured it out, right when they needed to get rid of Joey Porter.:)

Saw positive lip service a lot from former Chiefs coaches as well, so yea can't take that stuff to seriously. I just think it's awesome the Manzi beat out 2 other QBs just by warming up :)

Perhaps beating Missouri courtesy of Micah Hyde's pick six, the Chiefs had an unhealthy attitude toward Stanzi......

A child could have played better that the clown they started.....

The Jaguars signed Stanzi on Tuesday after he was released by the Chiefs and cleared waivers. The former fifth-round draft pick in 2011 spent the past two seasons on the Chiefs’ active roster. He never appeared in a regular-season game, but Jaguars coach Gus Bradley said he got a good report on Stanzi from Jaguars scout Kyle O’Brien, who spent the 2012 season with the Chiefs.

"We liked what we saw on film of him, I can tell you that," Bradley said. "We really did. We liked him. We were evaluating him out in warm-ups [on Thursday night], you know, when he was throwing the ball. So we did like him, and one of our scouts was with Kansas City and was intrigued by him and I think it passed on to us."

I guess your right. Warner worked his way up to be a great NFL qb. And God bless is, I can't think of a single example of a third-string QB that was cut from his team and didn't wind up have success somewhere else.

You win.
