Jacob Gill

I for one didn't think much of the Jacob Gill signing, as his numbers in three seasons at Northwestern weren't anything to get excited about. But, he has become a delightfully surprise at a much needed WR position. He seems to catch most balls his way and hopefully he continues to make the Iowa offense more than just relying on RB and TE. Really nice find by the coaches.

He isn’t the big stud X receiver that you want, but he is clearly the #1 go to receiver in this offense. He does all the little stuff that you want an Iowa receiver to do. That being said, you want to see more of Kaleb Brown and Kaden Wetjen being involved in the vertical pass game.

I thought Vander Zee was the new go to guy
He will be. He's a true freshman.

In the first 4 games of any season has a true freshman receiver had 94 yds and 2 TDs?

Honest question. Has there ever been a true freshman WR in the KF era that's gotten significant snaps?

Wasn't Smith Marsette a true freshman?

18 rec for 187 and 2 TDs.

Jerminic Smith played as a freshman (all 14 games), started 2. He had 6 receptions for 141 yds on the season (4 for 118 came in a single game vs. Illinois).

Was a stud, couldn’t figure out how to stay out of trouble and leave stupid behavior in the rear view mirror. Waste of talent and potential

We don't all grow up at the same rate. I am still working on it and I am 85. Still it is a sad situation to waste talent this way.
