Jack Tabb interview on Arkansas Radio Station

Just in the first 3 1/2 minutes of this interview it sounds an awful lot like this type of biased interview (selling Arkansas, the SEC, etc.) wouldn't pass muster with the NCAA. Is there a compliance hotline or email that this can be referred to?

Do the research to find out if it is legal or not and what the stipulations are. Maybe this interview is pre approved. Then once you find out all the information, then you can go all bruce pearl on them.

I can't imagine this is helpful for recruiting for Arkansas. This interview also is somewhat annoying. Arkansas is some middling SEC program who finally had a good year, who has done some shady stuff, and they get on their high horse about how much better they are then Iowa or NC.

Of course it isn't. Every recruit knows what the SEC is REALLY willing to offer for their services. They'll tune this stuff out until they get to brass tax :D

These guys are idiots. Are they trying to make the kid feel like an idiot and guilty? "I've been a sports writer for 35 years and the last time I check Iowa and NC aren't in the SEC". Uh yeah says Tabb. That guy was an idiot.

When they asked him about playing immediately, Tabb says a school he could walk in and play at aren't in his top 3 because that team probably isn't good. he wants to earn it. have to love that answer though.

The announcers were poking and probing any area they could to try to break through. I liked the one where the announcer asked him if he knew there was now a direct flight that he could take from Newark to Fayetteville (implication being how convenient it would be in the future for him and his mother)

Funny I didn't hear them bring up how the Razorbacks did against a Big 10 team in their bowl game.

These guys tried to tee him up like a golf ball but he handled himself pretty well.

good point.

edit - they did mention the sugar bowl and if the kid thought while watching if he could help.

edit - good answer for Iowa - he said he wanted to go to a program where he had to earn a starting spot and earn respect. that is what iowa would say to a recruit.

Jack is a three star, right?

Makes me wonder what they would do with a four or five star if they got on them on the radio.

I am deaf so cant listen to anything.

However, if this is radio interview, then I would guess it is legal with NCAA as long as Univeristy or booster didnt have role in his being part of the show.
Same principle as different than all the recruiting services calling him and then writing up interview and putting it on internet.

Based on the comments, I would guess he wont do it again with those guys.

I would agree with this, but isn't "The Arkansas Radio Network" directly affiliated with the the university. These guys basically work for the university and they're on the radio trying to sell it to the guy. Pathetic!

That kid seemed to feel very uncomfortable with the whole situation. I felt really bad for him. I think it is safe to say Welcome to the Big Ten Mr. Tabb! :)

i listened to the whole thing. I never once got the impression that the kid seemed uncomfortable with any part of the interview.
