Izzo to be targeted by the Pistons?

i don't disagree. As I stated, I highly doubt he leaves, but as a person who is a competitor, having a chance to coach and compete with the best of the best has to be worth mulling over.

I get what you're saying. I just don't know if it really is something he'd seriously consider. I would think if he had any NBA aspirations, he would have taken the leap long before now.

In the NBA it's all about the players and they are the stars; the coaches are secondary for the most part. In college basketball, the coaches are the stars. When you say L.A. Lakers today the first name in your head is Kobe; NY Knicks it's Carmelo; Miami Heat it's Lebron and D Wade. It sure as heck isn't Mike D'Antonio, Mike Woodson or Eric Spoelstra. Say Michigan State? It's Izzo. Duke? Coach K. Syracuse? Boeheim. Kansas? Self. College basketball coaches are the man and the stars of their programs. Not saying he wouldn't leave but I think it would be highly unlikely. He's a millionaire already so he doesn't need the money.

Why now and why Detroit? Their 2 biggest stars are Brandon Jennings and Josh Smith.

I don't see it either.

Do you know any millionaires? If so, do you know any of them that wouldn't step over their mother's grave for another million? :)

Landing Izzo would probably be enough to save Dumars' job at least temporarily anyway. If Dumars insists on having a college coach he would be better off kicking the tires around Billy Donovan than Izzo, especially if Florida gets another title.

No way he uproots his family for that hell hole.

Again someone who doesn't know what they are talking about. Grosse Pointe is one of the nicer & more affluent communities in the country. The average household income is probably well over $150,000. It sure beats the heck out of anything Iowa has to offer.

Sure Detroit is a dump. However, the high paid executives at Chrysler, Ford & GM need somewhere to live. Grosse Point is very nice. Ralph Wilson, owner of the Buffalo Bills, lives in Grosse Pointe.

Not to mention the Pistons don't even play in Detroit, they play in Auburn Hills. Plenty of nice communities outside of Detroit, just as there are near any large city.

Izzo's replacement?

Dane Fife? Seems Fife is always sitting next to Izzo, talking a lot to him, and Izzo seems to be interested in what he's saying.

You've obviously never been out by Jordan Crick. The houses there are amazing and better than anything Grosse Point has to offer.

The last venue in which Iowa played a game in the Thursday/Friday round of the NCAA tournament.

What is the Palace of Auburn Hills?
