Yep, he's been healthy and ready to go for weeks now, Izzo has just been holding him out of games to try and mind **** Fran. Dawson doesn't really have a broken hand either.

Payne will have to be less than 100% as far as playing is concerned. They definitely need him for the NCAA Tournament....

I have always expected us to win this game...before any of their guys got hurt. I don't care if Payne plays.

I stopped expecting wins a long time ago. This league is way to tough to expect results. I simply hope we come out on top, but your right its definitely going to be a battle.

There are 2 possible outcomes, Iowa wins or MSU wins. If you have any knowledge at all you expect one or the other will happen.

With that Dawson (I believe) out & Appling dinged up, he probably sits. There is no reason to force him back playing with a foot injury. I also think if Mich St loses, it's an out card. If they win, they win down players & it's a big boost for their team. It's a win win situation, if you will. You're expected to have a moderate chance to lose so no surprise but if you win it's a real boost to the team. That's how Izzo's playing it, I believe. A loss, especially from a good Iowa team, does not hurt them too bad at this point.

Agree to disagree. Look at from a football perspective the last few years. How many games did we go in expecting to come out with a "W" and then have those expectations shattered. I stand behind what I previously said. I hope for a win, but theres simply too many intangibles for me to expect one.

Not sure if I "expected" it but did predict it before the season.
For a while I was a teensy bit disappointed that Payne and Dawson would be out -- that the W would somehow be tainted. Then I remind myself how whiny the Izzo's are, how many officiating breaks they get, and the Hawks are going to lose at Breslin regardless of Payne and Dawson and I want to see a complete dismantling of MSU by the Hawks.

Izzo is smart enought to know that a road win at Iowa is not worth jepordizing the tourny. He won't play his walking wounded.
