Last year, we get to 8-3 in the B1G and #10 in the nation, then drop a heartbreaker to Wisky. Fran goes ape$hit on the team concerning Twitter in the middle of a great season, causing an unnecessary distraction, and we win exactly one of our remaining 8 games.

This year, we get to #25, then get absolutely mauled by Wisky. Then we string together 2 of the better games we've played in a decade, and Fran uses that momentum to go ape$hit on the media for absolutely no reason, causing an unnecessary distraction, and we get beat at home by a 4-7 team.

The guy just can't get out of his own way.

If we blow the remaining schedule because of his BS antics and manufactured distractions and miss the REAL NCAA tourney again, then he needs to be shown the door. Period.

Fran has proven he can win and improve teams. I blame this more on the players. They've been around long enough to **** away games like these. Fran's been around the block and has shown he can succeed, but for some reason these kids just cannot consistently play well.

Iowa lacks a leader and shooters and I will agree that's recruiting and on Fran, but there is no reason to lose like Iowa has the last two seasons. Scoring droughts and poor defense just cannot happen as often as they do.

I think this team has talent and they have been able to win, but they cannot play consistent and that's on the kids.

There has been a lot of stupid crap posted tonite, but I have to say Spider is spot on with this thread.

It is obvious that a majority of this team struggles with confidence when things get a little rough. Sticking up for your players is one thing. Creating distractions for a team this internally soft is another. Hopefully Fran learns from this.

Credit to Minny tho. They played great defense and capitalized on their opportunities.

Agreed. Although the team did not play, shoot well tonight, and this was a game they should have won, not sure why folks think MN was an awful team, they did play well.

I would say the players shouldn't have lost this game but for Fran I see him making the same subs, playing the same game plan whether we're up 20 or down 20. I don't see him reacting to refs calls, getting on players. Once the BIG reprimanded him and then Barta Fran has been like a dog with his tail between his legs and just wants to play out his contract and move on.

Minny may not be total dog crap.....yet if you are Iowa and considering where you are at and who you have beaten....you can't lose a game like this at home. This is a program loss and the egg falls on everyone. A good Izzo/Ryan team does not lose this game.
