IU releases assistant coach. Crean gets it. Lick doesn't.

Lickliter doesn't have a clue and neither does Barta. Does anyone really think any pressure is going to be put on Lickliter to change assistants? He would be astounded and even angry to even be approached with an idea such as that. And Barta doesn't have the cajones to even consider a move like that.

What good would it do anyway? A new assistant still has to deal with keepaway slowdown bb. Think of the game today...down 35 points and we are still playing possession bb but then the longer we held the ball, I guess that meant Minnesota couldn't beat us by 50. Lickliter was just trying to hold down the margin that we were going to be beaten by I guess?

Lick is to loyal to fire his assistants. Our only hope is that Barta says this off season fire an assistant or your gone and Lick just leaves. However, I think Lick's assistants aren't as big of a problem as he is.

Likckliter is terrible with in game adjustments, and im sure that carries over to making adjustments off the court as well. He is too stubborn. Im holding out hope that after Michigan wins by 40 he will be fired but im not holding my breath

The last month of "basketball" has been too much to handle. We cant even make a game of it with ****** teams on the road. Ridiculous

I think it is a panic move. There was an article in the paper about how Crean had missed out on another top ten recruit recently. I think he looks at how bad his team is this year and throws this assistant under the bus, in a desperate move to try and get someone who can recruit better.

Recruit better? Seriously!

Crean's 2009 class was ranked 10th in the country.

Indiana is just as young as Iowa. I would be pumped if I had his players to build on. Trust me if these players were on Iowa we would be thrilled with the future..

Crean has 8 Top 50 Recruits and you say he needs to recruit better. The future is bright at Indiana. I would worry about the Iowa program before worry about what's happening at Indiana. I think they will be fine.

You have got to be serious, one assistant?? The office should be stripped including the wallpaper. This is utterly ridiculous. No point in commenting anymore. I said nobody should go to a game. I'm sure the players would ask you to. Don't watch don't go. Save the kids!! They want to run and actually play. If lil lick is part of the team next year even taking up a walk on spot I will never go to a game while big lick is there or Barta is there. These recruiters are in a class all by themselves and it definitely is NOT Division 1 bball. Wait and see I say wait and see. I would fire all of them and hire Wags from Kirkwood, who just won their region and are going to Nationals( A guard Iowa will pass on named Kaylon Williams only had a triple double ) Heck hire any Juco coach from around here that manages to get kids from all over the world. The fans are to blame for giving them a dime. Just like givin your love (iowa) money for drugs (enabling them) and listening to the promises that things will be different. The power is in the people. Time for tough love!

Crean would already have been fired with Lickliter's recruiting classes.

Iowa fans would be in second heaven with Crean's recruiting classes although most of the players would have transferred already after having played in Lickliter's "system" for 1 year.

I don't care anymore, anyone else? They have lost me!
Didn't watch a sec on yesterdays game, in fact didn't know the score until about an hour ago.

IUs '09 class contains 3 of their top 5 scorers on this years team (#1, #3 and #5). Their top 3 rebounders were freshman as well. Good signs for the future.

Iowa's '09 class has one player in the top 5 of scoring (May) at #4 and he is also the #3 rebounder on the team. The rest of the class contributes about as much as John Lickliter. Not a good sign for the future.

O'Keefe needs to go!! Norm needs to blitz!

See, I appreciate good snarky sarcasm. Good one.

Let me explain for everybody that hasn't had enough coffee yet:

We all know that Lick doesn't get it and his players have given up. And Barta should be on the hotseat, but he's not. And Lick should be on the hotseat, but he's not.

The "Fire Everyone!" group needs to chill out, because it won't happen.

I live here in Milwaukee and have seen Crean coach.. He will have Indiana turned around long before we sniff and NCAA bid.. He can coach and recruit..
