Well going to great lengths to have a joint announcement tells me that there won't be another game for either team in B1G play

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – In coordination with the Big Ten Conference office, Indiana and Purdue jointly announce that their scheduled football game in Bloomington on Friday will be canceled due to COVID-19 testing results at both schools.

"Upon the advice of our medical professionals and in following the guidelines and protocols established for this season, we are not able to play Friday. As we stated last week, we know the history and tradition of this great rivalry game and how much it means to our current students, alumni and fans. Both universities worked extremely hard in an effort to play, but at this time it just isn't possible. We are certainly disappointed that we cannot play in 2020, but look forward to seeing each other on the field next season and competing once again for the Old Oaken Bucket." - Joint statement from Indiana Vice President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Scott Dolson and Purdue Vice President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Mike Bobinski

Well, if it is Covid related I guess maybe not an L.....but let's say Michigan does not chicken out....Iowa wins that game they should get the nod over Indiana for a New Years Six.

No surprise... So why some Iowa fans got worked up over us not playing Indiana was pointless...

Whens Michigan gonna say they aren't playing us either? I figure by tomorrow or so.
Yep. Indiana/Purdue was just the first domino to fall, everyone else was waiting for the first school(s) to jump.

Harbaugh does not want to lose to Iowa when he's got a super pissed off fanbase and make things worse for himself.

We probably aren't playing till the bowl game and who knows if that's going to happen.

Michigan wasn't going to travel to Iowa to do it either. Everything about it and the situation they are in just feels like they won't play. If they'd have played OSU and took their lumps I'd be thinking differently but from everything that's been said on their end they'd all but mailed it in 3 weeks ago.

My hopes aren't too high on their being a bowl game for us either....

I would think if they are healthy Michigan would be under some pressure by the Big Ten to play this game with it being on ESPN in prime time.

Michigan isn't afraid to play Iowa. Michigan is a blue blood program. This would be like Nebraska being afraid to play Alabama right now. You know Frost would take that game. Somehow Nebraska fans would think, "we're really good, so good we are playing Alabama...just like the old days. Frost has brought us back!"

Yea, what happened to that protected rivalry that was so important to match them up. I think it's a way Indiana can shrug their nose at the BIG 10 with the middle finger up.

It depends on who's making the decision... Harbaugh don't give a rip about BIG pressure he's one foot out the door. To me it kinda starts and stops with him.

Does anyone know if the conference is publishing the number of confirmed cases within programs of the teams that are cancelling games? I'm not trying to make light of the situation, but all players and coaches opted in at the beginning of the season knowing they could opt out at any time. While doing a quick google search, I saw that it was reported that Wiscy had 17 positive tests within the program when they cancelled the Nebby game, yet OSU is fielding a team missing 33 members of their program vs. MSU.

IMO its gotten to the point where it seems as though covid is being used as an excuse not to play games by some, while other programs (albeit those with something to play for) are finding ways to push forward. So I guess I'm curious as to whether its public knowledge how many cases are shutting down each program. It just seems ironic how it almost feels as though its becoming beneficial to those that are having games cancelled and coming back to bite the programs that haven't encountered it. Never seen a policy work quite like that.
