It's Time

First Post in a while. What a season for the Hawkeyes and a great step forward for the program. Now is the time to start scheduling out of conference powers. With 9 conference games, we need more than Iowa State and 2 MAC Schools. We need home and homes with major powers, the fans want it. Honestly, when was the last time Iowa played a major powerhouse out of conference? Let's start every season with a MAC team, play Iowa St, than get a school like USC, Oregon, Clemson to play. I hate Cowherd, but he has a point that we don't take initative to schedule out of conference powers. Pittsburgh was good this year, but I want to see a more storied program come to Kinnick sometime.
Go Hawks!

Actually, going to 9 conference games is a big disadvantage for the Big Ten so that time has passed, imo. Why do you think the SEC wants to stay at 8 conference games? They schedule 8 conference games, 1 power 5 non-conference game and 3 creampuffs (for a total of 9 power 5 games). When we go to 9 conference games that will be 9 power 5 games right there.

Iowa does no different than most other teams. Actually, you can argue that Iowa actually adds an additional P5 school with Iowa State. Yes, Iowa State is not usually a power, but, it is a rival which is usually on a different level.

Iowa has went out west to play AZ or AZ state in the past.

LSU played McNeese St., E. Michigan, W. kentucky and Syracuse. Alabama played Charleston Southern, ULM, and Midd Tenn, albeit they played Wiscy. Alabama would have played two FCS teams if ULM didn't get reclassified and the media is all over North Carolina for that. Most SEC teams only play 1 power 5 team in non-confrence and 3 creampuffs every year.
