Isn't it up to the center and QB to figure out where the blitz might be coming from? Isn't that kind of what the audible is for? I know Iowa doesn't use the practice of blitzing but every other team Iowa plays uses this quite often. Maybe the Hawks should practice against blitzes so it wouldn't surprise them so much when someone actually does use this concept. Now go ahead and attack the crap out o me and belittle me so you can feel like a BIG SHOT!

Yes, you need coaching, schemes, yada yada - but you gotta have the athletes to compete at the highest level year in and year out. Iowa gets close to that level once every 5 or so years by "over-achieving" with smart, hard-working kids.

But to get to the next level, they need better athletes - and yes, that means speed. You don't find it in quantity in the midwest. Sorry. Gotta go south or west to find it.

KF just doesn't want to recruit hard enough at this point - nor does he truly believe he's "out-manned" athletically, but he is.
