It’s Officially a Huge Weekend for the Hawkeyes

I know this question has been asked, but I bring it up again because the numbers are changing, seemingly by the second. I think we’re either at 19 or 20 commits now. Who’s left?

1-WR (Vines)
1-OT (McLaughlin)
1-DB (Porter?)
1-2 TE (Lachey, assuming OSU doesn’t offer late; Theo but I sense it’ll be PSU or UM)
Who else?

Thank you.

One more TE seems like an absolute certain. I would guess at least one more WR (Vines or Mack). From there it could just be guys they really want like McLaughlin or Joe Moore.

Room for only 5 more? This class is filling up fast. A momentum thing - sign up now or you'll lose your spot on the train. Or do they leave a couple of VIP spots open?

I say it often enough that it's probably tiring, but recruiting is so very fluid. And factors like injuries, transfers and evaluations play into it.

I'll be rooting for Lois to get back on the field, but his future remains up in the air.

I like getting these Alabama and Georgia kids.

If you look at almost any NFL roster they are loaded with athletes from these two states; Div II, Div III, NAIA, juco, often schools you've never even heard of.

Bring 'em on down or should I say up!

So I assume they would honor an academic scholarship if he is unable to play again?

And part of a ridiculously talented instate class, by Iowa standards.

Colby, Bollers, Liddle, Harrell, Bowie, and several others are all great talents (4-star to very high 3-star range), and many of them are currently Iowa leans. If we can lock down even just 2/3 of them, that's a fantastic start to 2021 built off of local guys alone.
I think we get all five and then some. This is supposed to be the best crop of in state kids in a very long time. Plus we are also building pipelines in the south in addition to our regular recruiting areas. One other state I think we are also slowly making strides in is Colorado.

If he is unable to play, I would think Iowa will still take care of him.

He also could decide to take a shot at a lower level if he's unable to return to his previous level of play.

Mostella set an announcement date for 7/5. All signs point towards PSU, but, the Hawks are right there. Probably going to be a bridesmaid on this one.
