It's official: Big 12 changes name

OK, not really but they should consider, "Texas' B!tches"

What is official is Dan Beebe just said, "We don't have a future television deal that's been reached at this time. Just confidence based on research/conversations."

Glad he guaranteed that $14-25 million to the schools before he actually can!

That's like bragging I'm dating the hottest girl in school based on friends telling me they heard "she likes me"

As I have stated in previous posts....that 14-17 million mark was an estimate on what they could get next Spring based on what the SEC gained on their new TV deal...Nebraska probably will not pay the exit fee...1 July 2011 is the yr ALL big 12 teams renew membership into the league...why would there be an exit fee for Nebraska if they did their required term? :eek:

...ill post the big 12 bylaws in a min to back my arguement up

2009-10 Big 12 Handbook.
http://www.big12sports.com/ViewArtic...ATCLID=1514844

Here are the bylaws as found within the handbook:
http://www.big12sports.com/fls/10410...B_OEM_ID=10410

Section 3 of the Bylaws--membership. "Current Term" is listed as ending July 1, 2006. "each Member Institution shall remain a member of the Conference for an additional five-year period after the end of the Current Term or the then-current Additional Term"

If you add 5 years to the "Current Term" end date of July 1, 2006, you get July 1, 2011... which is the day we leave. Perlman and Osborne and the Big Ten I believe made the date "1 July 2011" for a reason...So Nebraska wouldnt have to pay any penalty for leaving the conference. :D:p

The Panhandle Conference.

Noun 1. panhandle - a relatively narrow strip of land projecting from some larger area;
Verb 1. panhandle - beg by accosting people in the street and asking for money
beg - ask to obtain free; "beg money and food"

Very nicely done, indeed!
