It wasn't the lack of calling the timeout it was the sneak on 4th & 1

Then you DON'T have faith. His style has WON more games than lost. Take the good with the bad, that's all there is to it. KF didn't miss the block on the extra pt, didn't bobble the snap on the FG, didn't make stupid mistakes on special teams. Don't blame coaches in a game like this...you just make yourself sound like a sore loser who will be attending the 4th grade on Monday.

But he did call a timeout when a spike was the right call. Dont start hurling insults. I can play that game too.

Unless the defense was not ready, which they weren't. Stanzi probably thought the spike was the right thing, but the coaches saw that Wisconsin wasn't lined up and they could have caught them napping. It's not that big of a deal.

that gave them very little chance to win.

Assuming we spiked the ball we have 2 seconds less. You saw the next play a 3 yd pass to Robinson. Even with a timeout all we have is a hail mary to the end zone. We are only at the 36 yard line. Do you really like our chances with Meyer on a 53 yard field goal?

We lost out chance to win when with 22 seconds instead of throwing even if it is a 5-6 yard route and maybe the WR breaks the play. If we throw on 4th & 1 we can throw 3 pass plays setting up a much better field goal.

Who do you want to count on for a big play DJK, McNutt & Reisner or Meyer??????????

It was even before that when Stanzi took a sack for 10 yard loss and we had to call a TO then.

So then why would you call a T.O.?

BC there was obviously some confusion. I don't think Stanzi expected to see his coaches calling in an actual play. I think he thought he'd see them telling him to spike it. It's not like he had a few seconds to think about it. As a coach, do you really want your QB running a play he is uncertain of with seconds left? I wouldn't.

No you spike it. What dont you get about that. Stanzi was looking at the sidelines for at least 3 seconds. This is the time in the game where you should see the entire side line making the universal spike signal....

That there was confusion in the first place is on the coaching staff. Iowa called timeout right before the 4th down play right?

Ricky just didn't seem to know what to do after the sneak. Perhaps he had some bad info from KOK prior to running the sneak but Ricky should have know to spike the ball. The other 10 guys on the field knew what to do. Spike it and you have 12 seconds which is enough for 2 plays and with the TO left you could get to the 25 and kick a FG.

In the end it was special teams that hurt us yet again. Bad hold, blocked kick and everyone turning their backs on the punter.

Then that is on the coaching staff, not Stanzi. Anybody in their right mind would spike it there.

But then, Stanzi shouldn't have even looked to the sideline. He should've just spiked the ball regardless.

The sneak was fine; it was Ricky and the rest of the offense now knowing what do after that hurt. Rick was in the gun and looking for a play, Robinson was telling him to spike it.

That's on the coaching staff.

Ricky had everyone scrambling to the line to spike it and looked to the sidelines, that is when he stepped back and was motioning spike it to the sideline. the ball was not set and still 3 yards behind the line of scrimmage at that point

I'm sorry, but i have to disagree.

We spike that ball and we are looking at 10 seconds. We complete that same pass to Robinson and instead of scrambling to get out of bounds, he turns up field and gets anywhere between the 30 and 33 yard line. We call timeout with a couple of seconds left and have a 47-50 yard field goal attempt.

Lets see, we are getting extra points blocked and you want to set the kid up with a very long field goal that requires a very low trajectory. It makes no sense wasting the play on 4th & 1.

Would agree entire last series looked bad!! We are now 0-2 this season when we need it most.
