On Soundoff for someone to mention at one time Iowa fans would have killed for a seven win season. And of course Zabel remembers the days of 3-4 wins.

Can people just stop this stuff? That was ancient history.
 
I'll take 7 wins in a bad year. This is the worst defense I have seen at Iowa since KF's second season.

Yes. Exactly. Seven wins is the bottom of the barrel for most years...It's not that bad. The tough part is looking back on the losses...you can find 2 or 3 wins that we should have had.
 
Seriously with how bad we have played this year, you will complain about getting 7 wins so far with 2 games left? Iowa can finish with 9 wins in a "rebuilding" year and you're going to be upset about that? Even if they finish with just 7 there's no reason to complain with how poor the team has played at some points this year.

I'm with ya there, the ISU and Minnesota losses still sting. But the Pitt game could have just as easily been a loss as well. But I have been guilty of thinking "what if" and keep imagining what bowl game we'd be haggling over if Iowa was sitting 8-3 or 9-2 right now.
 
It's just football, you know, Mary keeps getting on me to throw to the TE's more, you know she dresses me, I forgot to put a belt on this morning, because she didn't lay it out for me...
 
It's been an up and down year with emotions teetering.

In the end I'm just glad Iowa is going bowling and they have a shot at 8 wins in the regular season. Nebraska isn't that good IMO.

The Big Ten is down this year and Iowa had a favorable schedule. I thought 9 to 10 wins was possible at the start of the year but we all know Iowa is not a 10 win team.

6-6 would have bugged me but for some reason that 7th win satisfies me.
 
This is not a "rebuilding" year and we are not a young team. I can't stand it when idiots throw this garbage around.

We have the youngest team in the conference due to the fact that we lost the most starters from last years team due to graduation and the NFL draft yet it's not a rebuilding year?
 
Iowa is replacing more starters than anyone in the league,and 2nd most of any of the BCS conference schools,ok? Maybe we are not young but we are inexperienced.

I love how the OP can find negativity on a day we go on the road and win a game by ten points. Forget the actual game,he has to go listen on radio to find a random caller to ***** about.....some people are just determined to be ****** off every single day....glad I do not tolerate fans like that around me.

I agree Herky. For some reason 7-5 is much more satisfying than 6-6. And we still got a chance at #8 next week. Looking forward to Black Friday now much more than I was last week. And is BLACK Friday not red Friday. Go Hawks!
 
Well I've said this before and I'm sure others have as well... I don't think the frustration is that we might have a 7 win season, but rather that we lost games we should have won and were fully capable of winning.

It is more of who we lost to and how we lost, rather than the actual number of losses. IMO.
 
assuming we don't lay an egg next week 8 wins is within reach. I've seen a lot of improvement in recent weeks. a win against Michigan, first road win and a loss to eventual division champs in which Iowa shot themselves in the foot as opposed to getting slaughtered. what else can you ask for? not bad for a rebuilding year.
 
What compels 83Hawk to start threads on both Hawkeye message boards to complain about random callers to a post-game show after a Hawkeye victory? Is it an obsession with the negative? Could be.
