If you call a game in such a way that you end up kicking the guy out on T's he should at least get his say before he leaves. It is VERY bush league to get security to escort Fran from the court without letting him explain his side. PERIOD. They were jobbing Iowa on the calls.

Officials aren't obligated to make the free throws roughly equal, but they were giving calls to UNI that Iowa wasn't getting. That was a 6-point play on the T after they called McCabe for charging was a bad call. The push offs that UNI got that were charges on the Iowa end were bad.

I don't normally complain about officiating like many here, but we are getting the shaft and the way it happened might have cost us the game, strange as it may sound with such a large spread with 3:30 left. But the ten points they got on those two technical possessions really created a problem because if we are getting calls there are no technicals and then maybe we are down by four and don't lose our composure.

But then again, we did lose our composure, so maybe that would have happened regardless.

Fran's initial look at that dude was "Are you serious? A cop?" I'm sure he was glad to get out of that joint.

Just another reason to non-renew the series. Bush league operation every where you look

This. Nothing more needs to be said. Probably the most poorly officiated basketball game I have ever seen.

Higgens motioned for him to come on the floor and escort Fran off.

higgens and jansen have a thing with Fran. Anytime either of those 2 worked an iowa game last year they were always chirping at Fran.

It was horrible officiating, but we shouldn't end the series because of the officiating tonight. UNI did not select the game officials. UNI played the game, got the calls, and kept doing the things that got them the calls. UNI did exactly what they should have done.

If we want to end the series, at least wait until we win a few in a row. Otherwise it looks like we are sore losers.

Actually, I believe the host school DOES select the officials. AM I wrong on this in regard to this game or the in-state series.

Now, I don't believe officials ref a game a certain way because a school that hired them wants them to. I just think these guys sucked tonight. I would be interested to see how they grade out by their superiors and what they have to say about how Fran's exit was handled.
