Then to never have loved at all. I want to thank the Iowa basketball team for taking us all on this ride that we went on this year, and that I am excited to where it is headed for the rest of this year and the future. Sure, we had our heart ripped out quite a few times this year, but you know, it is better to have that than to be apathetic like we have been through some of our darkest times.
Could the players play better? Sure. Could the coaches coach better? Sure. We all wished we could have moments back. But the one thing that was talked about over and over again the past few years is the lack of effort by everyone, and how disgusting this is. That was not the problem this year, not be a long shot. These kids and staff gave it all they had every minute that I watched them play, improved a lot, and had enough confidence, as freshmen mind you, to say in front of a camera that they came to the BTT to win it all. Now that takes balls when you are a sixth seeded team in the toughest conference in the country, and those are the kinds of guys that I will follow! They didn't go down without a fight, and aside from the Michigan game, were in every game they played this year.
And so, as a fan, that is all I can ask for. Thank you for giving me a reason to follow basketball again!
