It feels like us vs the world again this week

Seems like the experts are lining up to dismiss us despite being a top 10 team and battle tested.

I frankly do not get it. If we are a true top 10 team this is a game we should win. Arizona has not exactly proved much this year, last year, or really under Stoops ever. I am far from sold on a team that got absolutely waxed by Nebraska in Jan and people are drooling about when the best win they have thus far is Toledo.

It we want to be a Big 10 champion or make a run for a national title this is a game we should simply control.

Agreed. We need to (and we will) dominate. DJK is already inside their heads and that is gonna pay dividends in the form of touchdowns! I'm sticking with my Iowa 31, Arizona 10 prediction. GO HAWKS!!!!

I honestly do not understand the mentality that would acctually beleive that the world is out to get us.

For one, if you think everyone is picking against us, you are simply wrong or imagining it to hype yourself up for the game. Second, most people are predicting a close game, not an Arizona snow job on the fat, slow Iowa team. I honestly understand being hesitant to pick a Midwest team on the road on the west coast, since their track record is awful out there.

I honestly think that a large contingant of fans here have convinced themselves the media is out to get them. Is this an every week thing, or just this week? Honestly, the facts do not back up this paranoia, yet every thread is peppered with it.

Damn, she may sound like a mean one, but she tells the truth.

Like Rodney Dangerfield once said, "No Respect." If this was not a top 10 Iowa going into Arizona and someone else in the top 10, I bet the line is higher than 1 1/2 points.

That's garbage. Top 10 Nebraska is going to Seattle to play a hapless Washington team, and they have a 3 point favorite. It is impossible to believe that they would be higher than a 1.5 favorite if they were playing AZ instead. These Vegas guys don't set lines to mess with your head. They know what they're doing.

So stop crying and face the facts; No one is out to get us, and we are looking at a tough game on Saturday!

Again she's right, just ask GA-tech and everyone that bet on them and that so call sure thing of a 14 point spread.

There is no way there was a 14 point spread on the Orange Bowl. Maybe 3 or 4, but 14 might as well be 1,000,000. That's a preposterous number.

What difference does it make if people feel like we don't get respect from the media? They're entitled to that opinion. It doesn't hurt anybody for them to think that. There's no reason to flip out on them.

Hapless Washington? First of all, they aren't that bad (particularly by Pac-10 standards), and the media is in love with Jake Locker. That can easily affect the line.

Ok ok, fess up, who done it? Who authorized the use of logic here? But for real, I'm pretty sure there are FBI agents in the trees outside my house that are conspiring with little green monsters to take me in. Please, please someone help me.

So your argument is "Who cares if the facts don't back me up, it's my opinion"?

You don't happen to work in politics do you?

(Oh, btw, your "Vegas picks Wash because the media loves Locker" theory is also demolished when observing past lines. But who cares...it's your opinion.)

And she is back...no doubt it's so she can argue and disagree with everything a fellow Hawk fan says yet again. I thought we left this stuff behind when we left the Scout site.

It doesn't matter how many fans you have, why do people think that Iowa is tough to visit? Even compared to bigger stadiums (camp randall, shoe, happy valley) they do not like visiting Iowa's smaller stadium. Stadiums and their Uniqueness is what makes them tough to travel to. They are all unique in their own way and i think that zona has a great idea allowing the students to go the whole length of the field, that way no matter where they are they can be on top of the opposing team (is that the visitors sideline by the way?)

I really don't think the media has anything against Iowa or Big 10 or midwest teams in general. I think it's more a case of that after a certain amount of time, perception tends to become reality.

For years, the midwest teams have been thought of as big and kind of slow. (To be fair, there was some truth to that for awhile) Now, even though we know it's not true, it's still the reality for the media because they've had that perception for so long. Especially true for the media types that don't normally cover teams from this part of the country.

The best way to change the perception is to go out and beat those teams. Hopefully that will happen on Saturday night.:)

I'm sorry, you offered what facts, exactly? Washington is expected to be an improved team, largely because of Locker.

As someone said earlier, how'd that 14-point line for Georgia Tech work out against Kansas? You're right, Vegas is always on the money.
