As a coach I would love the opportunity to get game time as close as I could to a bowl game.

Only negative is their isn't much recovery time if someone gets banged up. But the other power conferences all have championship games around the first Saturday in December so they are all taking the same chance.

I get that but give me the game. If its coached right the starters get a quarter. Plenty of time for 2nds and 3rds. But get me that gsme. Coaches get stale too.

I 100% guarantee that's not true unless you're over 500 miles from Kinnick. You say you live in the state so that's not possible.

I think Iowa would schedule a game, but not like this.

How would they do it? ISU scheduled a team that had to cancel another game. That tells me they were basically trying to turn over any stone possible. This is likely about the best they could do.

I get why they are playing this game, it gives the clowns a better chance at 6 wins and a bowl. Could you imagine how bad this would look if ISU is sitting at 3-4 wins by the time this game comes around lol. Meaningless, cold, nobody will show up, they paid a team for nothing.

I don't have a problem with it:

1. Iowa State needs to play 12 games for player development.
2. 6-6 looks better than 5-6.
3. Fans get another home game.
4. Weather "could" be acceptable.
5. Incarnate Word gets a bunch of cash.
6. Freshmen get to play.

A game is always better than the alternative.

They are taking gas from Iowa fans because of the name of the opponent.
