ISU TD with less than 2 minutes to play

You know how you're little brother would cry unless you let him score a touchdown against you in Techmo Bowl? That's what happened yesterday. I agree with Hawkforce. I lost some respect for CPR for not pulling the starters but I don't care that ISU scored a cheap touchdown against us. We all know how it happened.

CPR was just doing anything possible to get the glass to the half-full point. The cheap TD may have actually taken water from the glass; he sent the message that it takes the ISU 1st string O against the Iowa 2nd/3rd string D to score the first TD in almost 18 quarters. It would be interesting to hear that spun into a positive.

I was watching the game with Cyclone fans and THEY were pi$$ed at Rhoads for not putting Tiller in as early as the 2nd quarter, simply because Arnaud was sucking so much. They all thought that their 4th quarter TD didn't count in their minds, either, since it came against or 3rd team defense.

Myself, well, yes, I am dissappointed that the streak is technically over, but I'll get over it. Hey, we blew out our in-state rival. Totally demoralized them and their fanbase, so, in the bigger picture, I can not be happier. It would have been nice to have the continued streak to lord over the Clones for another year, but I think we still have plenty to lord over them with.

I think now all Iowa-ISU conversations will contain a touchdownless streak against our 1st team defense, which is still alive and well!

I'm actually glad the streak is over and it couldn't have ended in a better way as they still didn't do it against our 1st team defense or during a part of the game that would consider it meaningful.

I love it when Iowa manhandles ISU, but really don't understand the bashing here. Both Iowa and ISU were doing what was prudent for them. Iowa goes into full tempo game managment, work on your bread and butter execution mode in games like this, while as Homer said ISU just worked on getting reps and gaining something positive.

Watching the last two games it has been apparent to me that Iowa could just about named the score in both contests, but didn't. I expect Iowa to be better because of that down the road.

ISU was completely overmatched yesterday but by they did get some real good work out of the day and as Homer said may have broken a psycological barier.

I look at this differently than other posters I guess. I would rather have our third team defense get quality reps against a first team offense rather than a bunch of scrubs.

The streak still lives...no TD's against our first team defense than '06. But I'm more interested in wins than meaningless streaks.

I watched the game with a house full of ISU grads, students, and future students, all relatives. I pulled the 1st string - meaning I quit rubbing it in -midway through the 3rd. I just felt too sorry for them. Prior to that point I did get few good digs in.

Yeah, I understand where you are coming from.....We invited our neighbors (clones) to come with us, they invited us last year. Even more so than last year, my wife would poke me in the ribs as a reminder to tone cheering and yelling a bit, as our neighbors were stunned by the *** whooping.

I lost ALOT of respect for Paul Rhodes today...you don't do that...it would have served him right if Robinson or Arnaud went down with a season ending injury...I couldn't believe that...let some kids experience the game that might not get to.

Is that like leaving stanzi in till the end of the 3rd up 35 to 0 Kinda classy move.

Can someone tell me WHY Arnaud is still in the game? To break the "streak" against our third team? Seriously, that was embarrasing. Clowns, that was an absolute joke and you should be ashamed. Whatever, as far as Hawk fans are concerned the streak lives!!! Great job FIRST TEAM D, you did your job and held them scoreless.

Actually it doesn't. But whatever floats your boat.

And I actually told my wife right after we got the TD that this wouldn't "count" to Hawk fans since it was so late in the game. Guess I was right.

Congrats, though, you got us good.
