ISU/Pollard says no fans this week

Governor Dimmy seemed a bit pissed off by a reporters repeated questions about 25K fans being at the first ISU game. Dimmy said the fans should just wear and mask and go, but she has never mandated masks overall or at certain places.

Then 90 minutes later ISU after talking with Story county residents and business owners decide no fans.

I'm no fan of Pollard or ISU, but they got it 100% right. Gov. Kimmy once again shows why her approval ratings during the Covid-19 pandemic are as low as they are. Because unlike Kimmy's numbers, those numbers don't lie.

Which numbers don't lie?

I was leaning toward her approval rating, but even that can be manipulated. At the end of the day Kimmy's data and numbers, whether pulled directly out of her ass or not, are what she's going to go by so we're at her mercy.

So they're not bringing baseball back into the mix?

But on the serious side can someone explain to me how closing C.Y. Stephens' auditorium falls under the athletic department when they mention attending performing arts and shows take place there? I'm not real familiar with ISU's campus, is this a rec center or former home to Cyclones basketball prior to Hilton? Maybe I'm crazy but this seems to be the start but not sure I'm guessing additional cuts would be needed to recover from the loses or is this in addition to paying back the funds to the University over time?

CY Stephens is a big performance arts building. They put on concerts, events, plays, musicals, stuff like that. It's part of the Iowa State Center, which is a group of buildings north of Trice including Hilton, Stephens, Scheman building, etc. The athletic department actually controls and manages all of those buildings.

It will be sad if they close it, because the acoustics are great there and it's actually a pretty good place to go see some performance.

Thanks I had no idea. Hate to see this pandemic shutting anything down on any campuses.
