Jamie Pollard has an inferiority complex like you wouldn't believe. The sad part is Iowa State football has no where to go but up, and with Missouri, Texas A&M, and Nebraska being replaced with TCU and WVU... the Big 12 has gotten a tad bit easier. I hope they have 3-4 years of stagnant football and no bowl births. Pollard won't survive.

He hired Ferentz after the boosters went apesh!t crazy when they heard of the Terry Allen idea and after he botched getting Stoops. Total luck.
As for Harbaugh, that worked out pretty well for the 49ers.

Yeah it didn't work out well for Stanford winning a BCS bowl game, winning more games in school history, etc.
So if Fran works out, are you not going to give Barta credit? Barta failed with Lick, and we all know Fran wasn't his top choice so he, as you say, "botched" getting other tops candidates. Total luck?

Bob Bowlsby was the AD at perhaps the best athletic school in the country. You don't get that job by being a bad AD.
