Is UI still having Carson King at the game Saturday?

Just keep screwing over Busch by donating, they will match funds through the rest of the month.

They have got to be feeling really stupid about now. They are paying money towards a cause that wound up giving them negative publicity.

Theyre not getting screwed. The money donated is a drop in the pond.
Publicity is publicity and they will not be hurting for this.

If someone trilt wants to switxh to Miller, or whatever because of a dumb PR move is more than welcome. AB will be fine

That will last a month. Then the cretins that love cheap horse piss will go back to buying their tall boys at the Kwikstar and all will be forgotten.

Exactly. Any boycott goes by the way side pretty quick. Not a fan of light beers to begin with and they are donating a lot of money.

The Des Moines Register is getting hit. In just Marion county Iowa alone, they had over 270 cancelled subscriptions. My daughter works for them and that is what she was told a couple of days ago.

Where I was at yesterday there was quite a bit of talk about all this while people had Coors lights in their hand. I dont think it will last long either, but donating to something that looks like it's going to be a goldmine for your business, then actually have it hurt you because of a bad decision, has really got to sting.

ABInBev is the 70th largest company in the world. .They spend nearly $2 billion in advertising in the US alone. They'll be fine. But, it would hurt them for one of their namesake brews to fall out of the top 10 worldwide. Busch and Busch Light as brands are barely holding on. And mostly because of regional preferences. They would like to hold on to those regions for the brand. They'll ditch those, though, in a heartbeat if they have to keep holding The King of Beers aloft...and they've been concerned about Budweiser since light beers took over. Thankfully, their brilliant marketing of Bud Light was able to hold off both Miller Lite and later Coors and the Silver Bullet tour. They will fight for the King until the end of days.

I know a lot about beer, thanks to UI. Not just because I consumed a boatload of it in college....Keystone was big in my era. And the original Fitzpatricks. But, also, I had to write a 30 page paper on a given industry for a rather demanding econ professor. I was assigned the brewing industry. I'm still very proud of that paper. I used "synthesis" of data and even visited that third floor of the library where nobody but nerds go to get access to the bound periodicals. (Or to take a dump in solitude in an empty crapper where nobody will barge in on ya). And we're not talking Time and People. We're talking "Journal of American Advertising" and "Food and Beverage Distributing Journal".
